I heard on the radio this morning that Arkin was moved to second team O-line, while Nagy has moved up to first team. Anyone else heard this, and if so does it mean Nagy will be starting Sunday?

I read that they were simply rewarding Nagy for several days of good play and that nothing further should be read into it.

Nagy will get a chance to show himself this sunday with 1st unit. Coaches are not down on Arkin just giving Nagy an oppertunity

How great would it be to have one immediate OL starter come out of this draft (Smith), one who's almost ready to start (Arkin) and another who's showing some potential to start in a year or two (Nagy)?

And then you have the whole Costa situation (good situation) and this might be the best depth we've seen in a long time.

But Jerry doesn't know anything. he's the worst GM ever. we're doomed.

To me it shows Dallas is very serious about building an OL. Big test for the young guys with SD coming in. Their defense was ranked one of the best last season.

It is like going to the dentist no one like to go but you got it do it.

The coaches really liked what Nagy did at center against the Broncos and just want to see what he can do at LG. Increase the competition.

I heard someone say that Nagy is stronger than Arkin.

or the worst depth, however you take it. glass half full, glass half empty.

That does seem to sum it up, you're either optimistic that the Cowboys have great depth with all of these guys getting a shot or terrified that there is so little depth there that they're giving everyone they have a chance to solidify the spot.

I wish I was more optimistic about it.

i think nagy is more athletic than Arkin. Arkin is athletic too but look at nagy's times. Coaches says Nagy also plays with good footwork and balance. He is probably also alittle stronger.

I said after the draft that besides Smith, Nagy was my favorite pick just because of the value (7th rounder)

He is a good football player, and without a doubt can help us if needed this year, but especially down the road. I like that we are getting athletes on the offensive line rather than fat slobs who can't get out of their stance and get blown by.

I've got a lot of faith in Garrett & co.

If Arkin, Nagy, Costa, Parnell and Young were that bad, a couple of vets would have been brought in. The team has the cap space available.

I hope so, but these are many of the same folks who kept some bums around previously just the same. Corey Procter comes to mind. All of us 'couch scouts' saw that he was a bum when the team somehow couldn't. And he couldn't even stick with 'Cowboys South'.

And look at Leonard Davis. So well regarded around the league that he's still looking for work.

And I have to ask myself, how many offensive linemen has this team hit on in the last decade plus to instill such confidence?

Doug Free has been the only keeper that they've drafted since Gurode.

And the fact that they continue to keep the out of shape and unreliable Montrae Holland around also makes me question.

Costa, Nagy and Arkin have been more impressive than Young or Parnell.

Gauging by the Columbo and Davis cuts Dallas knew what they had in a couple of those guys prior to the Draft.

Which makes finding Arkin and Nagy in the 4th and 7th rounds even more exciting.

Plus rightnow Tyron Smith is looking like a steal for the #9 Overall and Free is locked in at OT with a longterm contract.

I don't think it's fair to "color" this regime the same as when there were other head coaches (Parcelles, Phillips) and scouting heads (Ireland) heavily involved in the decision making.

To me this is a different group and needs to be judged on its own merit or lack there of.

I'm not sure Holland's fate has been determined yet– he can't be cut until he's healthy.

Feel the same

Yeah but it's the same group who kept Bright and Brewster around just recently too.

I hope it has. And I hope he's released as soon as he's healthy.

Who knows? That may be why it's taking him longer than expected to return?

But I would not let that stop me from bringing in a veteran guard now.

The feeling amongst them may be that a veteran guard isn't necessary.

We're not the guys seeing every practice. We don't have the film from the game to go back over and over again (even though what we saw on TV was positive for the most part).

If they don't think a veteran guard costing $2.5 to $3 mil per year is going to be that much of an upgrade over kids like Arkin, then I'm OK with that.

Garrett first training camp as head coach resulted in the departure of Brewster and Bright. To me that's a sign of something different.
