My guess is that Wright goes to PUP and it allows them to keep an extra DB for the early part of the season.

Oddly enough, that's the type of injury that might be a good thing.
PUP does not work that way. You have to be put on PUP before the preseason begins to be eligible to stay on it at the start of the season. Most likely, he would go on short-term IR if the injury is one that lingers.

I want to say, because I have been critical of Wright, that on first view, it looked like he had a solid game. I'm going back and reviewing the game (only rewatched the first quarter so far), but he definitely wasn't a problem early through the first few Jacksonville possessions. Of course, that could have been because the Jags had other receivers open.

Second-team defense actually did pretty well, especially on those first two possessions, before Turpin's fumble gave Jacksonville a short field.

IR for 4 games and then likely comes back after injuries start to happen. Same with Lewis

Lol it’s not whatever

In order for him to be eligible to return he has to make the final 53 first and then get put on IR. Which means that we would have cut someone we might want to keep, and hope he makes it through waiver. Otherwise putting him on Ir now means he’s out for the season.

IR and PuP are two different things. And have different impacts when a player is on them during training camp

In other words, whatever.

The semantics of PUP vs. IR isn't the point.

Wright is meeting the turk soon.
I thought Wright & Joseph might be on the bubble going into camp. Joseph had a nice pass break up vs JAX without committing PI. I didn't notice Wright

Was hoping to see better from Scott. Thomas did a great job tracking the ball on the INT. Those two guys have their chance to push WRight & Joseph out

Cornerback depth chart early should be Diggs, Gilmore, Bland, Scott, and Goodwin. They'll fit Jourdan Lewis in there once he's healthy.

At this point I don't see Wright making the team.
