What in the hell is wrong with people?

The neighbor called 911 to say the 4-year-old boy from next door was outside screaming because temperatures were in the 40's and he was locked outside in the nude.

When Police pulled up, Ofc. Leland Ashley says officers could hear the screams from another child inside. Ashley says, "As they approached the house they could hear screaming and crying coming from inside."

Cops saw an 18-month-old girl naked, covered in feces and locked in a dog cage.

Officers, along with one of the neighbors, kicked in the back door of the home. That’s where they found another naked girl.

The arresting officer says in the report, “While clearing the house, we found another naked toddler asleep in a bed in the master bedroom.”

The officer found her father, 47-year-old William Todd Lewallen, passed out in the bed next to her.

I was actually being a bit sarcastic. I think our culture has degenerated a great degree to where these things aren't anomalies, but every day occurrences.

Perhaps he looks like he's an alcoholic or drug user. A professional observation augmented by the history of being passed out while his kids were criminally and negligently abused. Poor kids. I have some sympathy for him but not too much.

They weren't. But we have unprecedented access to news than ever before.
This distorts people's perception of crime frequency versus the pre-Internet era.

Yeah I know there are always instances. This isn't an instance it's a daily occurrence.

It has nothing to do with the internet and access to news. That's like saying we haven't really progressed in some areas, the internet has just made us more aware of what was already here. Not so.

That is true for you and me, but there are people that improve their day to day quality of life by being in prison.

Clean, warm and dry place to sleep. Food. Medical treatment available.
