I will not apologize for being a chick and loving chick music.

I left off my Lil Jon, Ludacris, and Game, because that was on a whole different playlist. I break that out when I'm trying to release some stress from the gig. ;)

Seriously, back in the day, I was in LOVE with Bone Thugz in Harmony. I actually knew the words to their songs and could flow with them. I tried to get an interview when I was doing the journalism thing, but I could never pin them down...

I've also got an 80s Best of triple disc set loaded on my computer. I could've added some of those on here, too...lol
lol ya u kinda got me there.
... man, i feel like a woman.

I'm not a big music fan, so my selections may seem dull but these are all songs that have moved me, and compelled me to go buy the CD, which is something I rarely do.

Hurt, the Johnny Cash version (the original NIN version doesn't even come close, this song wasn't completed until Cash sang it, just a powerful powerful song)

I Hung My Head by Johnny Cash (same album, hard to believe two of the greatest songs ever - in my opinion - are on the same album, if I listened to more old school country I'd probably find some equally strong songs but in this day and age when murder and violence is glorified by a lot of bands and television, it's nice to hear a truly older wise singer open his heart to the true shame and guilt of the act)

Life Goes On by Tupac (he has other songs that are more popular but this was always my favorite, the best tribute to your friends that have gone before you)

Don't Let It Bring You Down, the Annie Lennox version (I know this is blasphemy for folk singing fans, but I can't stand Neil Young's voice, this song has been redone by many people I guess but I enjoyed Lennox's version the best, beautiful song)

Sympathy for the Devil, both Rolling Stones & Guns N Roses version (I like both versions equally, Guns N Roses singer has more of an evil voice, but Rolling Stones has more of a black magic Voodoo sound to it, just a deliciously evil song, doesn't have the hardcore shock value sound that heavy metal or rap use but gets the same meaning across which makes it more brilliant to me)

Strange Fruit by Billie Holliday (nails the tragedy and darkness of lynching and other horrible acts in America at the time)

It Was A Very Good Year by Frank Sinatra (the older I get, the more meaning it has, the sadness of getting old and remembering younger happier times)

Redemption Song by Bob Marley (title of the song says it all, gives me hope for future generations)

Pink Floyd "Comfortably Numb" needs to be on every list.

I thought about naming a Floyd song, but I can't put Pink Floyd on a list of best songs, only on a best albums list. For me, that's a larger tribute. The Wall and Dark Side of the Moon are two albums that I can listen to from start to end and enjoy every second of it. A lot of their best stuff plays like a long psychedelic opera.

Love Rollercoaster and Fire - The Ohio Players

Twilight Time - The Platters....Heavenly shades of night are falling,,,,It's Twilight Time...love that song.

Shining Star - Earth Wind and Fire

It's Your Thing - Isley Brothers

Let It Whip - Dazz Band

You Dropped a Bomb on Me - The Gap band - that opening music just was wicked.

Jungle Boogie - Kool and the Gang

Brick House - Commodores

Napster has some deal going with unlimited songs for about 15 bones a month. It's only compatible with a few MP3 players, but I know there are free music converters out there that can change all their music to MP3 format.

I saw REO Speedwagon in concert with Styx about 2-3 years ago during their Arch Rivals tour. They were pretty good. Not Styx good, but pretty good nonetheless. Their best song is Roll With the Changes..... WITH Styx.

Does it have Relax by Frankie Goes to Hollywood?

Come on Irene by Dexie's Midnight Runners?

Our House by Madness?

Blame it on the rain by Milli Vanilli?

Hold me now by the Thompson Twins?

It has to have Fine Young Cannibals, Squeeze, Crowed House and Wang Chung.
