With Johnson, I agree. When Bon Scott was alive, too close to call. That man has a lot of charisma...I do love me some Angus though!AC/DC

Not more popular. He wasn't at the time.
At the time, Dimebag Darrell was the only member of the band I could name.Dimebag Darrell when he was alive.
Trey Azagthoth of Morbid Angel
Jeff Waters of Annihilator
Jake E Lee when he was in Badlands...very underrated band IMO
George Lynch when he was in Dokken
Michael Schenker from UFO and MSG
Alex Skolnick from Testament
Morello also has his own show on Sirius. Very talented guitarist!
I was gonna say Rush, but I thought maybe I was just biased, because I can't stand the shrill voice.Neil Peart - Rush
Dale Crover - The Melvins
I thought about that too, but I really like Daltry, as a frontman, a vocalist, and an actor. Townshend seems like a dick, anytime I read an interview. Moon was great, but definitely had issues. The Who. Most likely Townsend and possibly Moon the Loon.
Oh, I like Daltry and Townshend can be a turn off at times, but Pete was the meat of the band when talking song orchestration. Topic can be a little subjective depending on a person's perspective of any given band.I thought about that too, but I really like Daltry, as a frontman, a vocalist, and an actor. Yeah, I forgot, this isn't about popularity, but about who was more "famous".
