LOL.

Dude had 11 sacks as an interior DL, generally wrecked things inside. Dude is a legit top level DT.

How can you be top level DT if you’re below average against the run? His departure could hurt the Eagles if Jordan Davis can’t provide more against the run than he did. But if he fulfills his potential they could be better there. Sacks aren’t everything. Jason Hatcher had 10 sacks and I don’t recall anyone confusing him with a top level DT.

I disagree. The exact reason why the Eagles let him go is why he’s not great….he’s a good pass rusher but there’s a reason why their interior got ran up the gut like ours did and we didn’t have anyone as good as Hargraves. He’s not a great player.
They let him go because they had a young DT drafted from the previous year and they had cap constraints. They had to lose some people - if it wasn't Hargrave, it was going to be Bradberry. Bradberry was cheaper. Hence why Hargrave had to go.

With Hurts' new deal on the horizon they had to make tough choices.

PFF, even in giving him a suspect run grade had him Top 15 DTs in football. But apparently a Top 15 DT in all of football isn't "great".

Can you name 15 great defensive linemen lol?

But why do you think they drafted Jordan Davis to begin with? They let Hargraves go because they could. They could’ve freed up money to keep him if they wanted to.

Just google, "Worst NFL defense 2023" and you'll see that the Rams come up most often.
I get it
But we haven't played the 2023 season.
Anyway, that's why I said what I said.
We'll see.

Yea, I can................ Donald, Jones, Reader, Simmons, Lawrence, Allen, Williams, Heyward, Buckner, Clark, Wilkins, Payne, Hargrave, the other Williams............... All are legit upper level DTs (and I'd kill to have any of them alongside Mazi).

And the Eagles are big on drafting and investing in the DT position. So them taking two DTs in back to back years isn't shocking as they value the position. Roseman is also a forward thinking DT and likely knew based on their cap situation that Hargrave could be a future cap casualty, hence why they took Davis.

At the end of the day Hargrave is a legit, upper level DT in this league.

They draft Davis because 1) they put a premium on DTs and aren't afraid to overdraft a position 2) Roseman is good with the cap and could see down the road that Hargrave could be a cap casualty especially if they had to pay Hurts a big contract (which they did).

They really couldn't keep Hargrave if they wanted because they had largely already restructured and redid most of the contracts that made sense to do that.

They did what a lot of teams would do (even us), they are taking a chance on their young guys and not bringing back a key vet because of cap considerations.

They could’ve released Slay, let Cox go among other moves…..

You’re just naming guys. Donald is in a class of his own. Then under him would be guys like Quinnen Williams, Chris Jones, etc. Hargreaves and Chris Jones aren’t even if the same caliber.

49rs and Rams

2022 Dallas was 9th in total yards, 21st in rushing yds; 8th in passing yds; 5th in points allowed

So no we do not look like the best D in the league
At least we didn't stay pat. Could have just concentrated on offense. I'm glad that McCarthy/Quinn see that the best way to get this team to the Super Bowl is improve an already top-10 defense.

Replacing Brown with Gilmore and Watkins with Mazi has a good chance of pushing us forward. We also replaced Barr with Overshown, but I feel Clark is the player who is expected to step up and be that replacement there since he already was taking some of Barr's snaps.

And even with last year's defense, the stats don't reflect the improvements the run defense made when we traded for Hankins, and we brought him back this year.

Don't know how good to expect the defense to be, but I won't be surprised if it's better than last year's.

Injuries killed us, and lack of depth.

Lmao bro threw DJ Reader in. Most of those dudes have not even sniffed great. A great player has the potential to be a hall of famer. No way in hell DJ Reader has a chance to be a hall of famer.

I already know that’s why I asked him to name 15 guys because there aren’t 15 great lineman so yeah Hargraves flaws and all is top 15. Listing Reader is insane lol.

Renfro, Adderly, and Howley.......Three HOFers played an integral part in the Cowboys first two SB appearences.

Thurman, Walls, and Downs......combined for 27 INT's in one season. Walls and Downs were in their rookie seasons as undrafted free agents. Walls picked up two additional INT's in the NFC championship game

White, Martin, and Harris.....In 1977 White and Martin combined for 32 sacks and SB co-MVP. Meanwhile HOFer Cliff Harris was a 1st team All Pro along with Martin.

Haley, Woodsen and Sanders....Two HOFers and another that should be there...they represent a whole lot of SB rings.

Did you notice a common thread? In all four cases the Cowboys went deep into the playoffs, three trios helped the Cowboys win at least one SB.

The very basic requirement for "best defensive trio" is at least one NFC championship game. Otherwise, what was the point?
Spot on brother this defensive trio needs to prove themselves on the field it also might help if Diggs commits to tackling.

Can't have a top player that won't tackle
