I have a Four day weekend coming up Sat-Tues. So I thought this would be a good tome to break in my new player. I'm going to hit up Best Buy/Wally World and pick up some movies.
So I'm looking for recomendations. I'm thinking One will be "WALL-E" because anamation is supposed to be great on Blu-Ray. So that leaves Three more (One a night) So recomend away. Keep in mind I like things blowing up, space ships, gun play and naked wimmins. :)

There are hundreds of great visual movies out there. Give 300 a try. It was the first Blu-Ray movie I bought.

300, Kung ** Panda (The visuals are great but the sound is spectacular with a HT setup), Iron Man, Planet Earth (crowd pleaser, even people that aren't normally into this kind of stuff will be awed by watching it on Blu Ray, make sure you get the British version and not the American version if you do, narration is better.)

I usually find that I avoid actually buying Dramas and stuff for Blu Ray, I prefer to buy movies where the extra visual detail and soundtrack add to the experience of watching the films.

I have Netflix though, so I still do rent plenty of other types of movies. Watching anything on Blu Ray is a pretty fun experience.

Definitely 300.

Saving Private Ryan would be a good one.

I'm waiting for the Blu Ray release of LOTR but they keep delaying it.

I wonder if Band Of Brothers is out on BD?

This. I'm devoting an entire day to this when it comes out.

SPR is a favorite, but it doesn't need Blu-ray. Can't hurt though.

Try something from Tim Burton or Henry Selick. Their style and vision is unreal in Blu-ray. Coraline or The Nightmare Before Christmas would be badass.

Lots of the newer action hero type movies would be great choices. Transformers, the new Batman, Iron Man, etc.

If it were me, I'd get:

Either Saving Private Ryan or the Band of Brothers set to cover the drama/war/history buff in me.

Coraline, cause that **** aint no kids movie. The visual stimulation of Henry Selick is amazing.

Iron Man for the explosions and whatnot...

and 300 for all of the above.

Then I'd add True Romance, just because its a badass movie....but its not on Blu-ray yet.

LOTR in BluRay is going to be BAD ***! They need to cut the BS and release it already. I'm also looking forward to the new Star Trek in Nov.

I'd also give the new Bond flicks a look.

...and if you're into Westerns, I'd bet Open Range would look amazing in Blu-ray....the landscape cinematography in that movie is jaw-dropping.

Other considerations...

Wall-E is great.
The Kill Bill movies.
Pirates of the Caribbean has great reviews on Blu-ray.
Sin City
The Bourne Trilogy

Yep, the problem is, I think they're going to release the theatrical versions first, tempting everyone to buy the shorter versions....and then later the extended versions.

I don't know if I have the willpower to wait../

Yep, that blows. I will probably buy both. lol. I'll just give the theatrical ones to one of my boys once the extended come out.

Sin City is a good choice too.
