Name one QB in the NFL that would do well with our OL?

Other than McNabb, I can't think of a one. And the only reason him is because he's built like a truck and can bounce guys off of him while keeping his eyes downfield.

I'm as excited as anyone to see Romo get time, but the blame for this game falls squarely on the personel decisions that gave us the talent on OL, and then the coaches who coach the OL...

If Bledsoe/Romo had just a little bit of time, this offense would be so different. I whined about the OL much like all of us since the beginning of last season. Why can't some of parcell's former players birth some hoss lineman?

Take McNabb out of the WCO, and he is out of the NFL.

No QB would be great with our OLINE.

BUT there would be a few QB's who would be decent
Brady
Manning come to mind. but Manning definatly would not have the sucess he is having in Indy thats for sure

i knew someone would post mcnabb before opening the thread. LOL he would get murdered here trying to do too much... nevermind he handed away a game or two himself. hasn't beaten an above .500 team yet either.

romo can do OK if given the appropriate plays to run... so can any accurate QB who can moderately avoid the rush and sense the pocket collapsing.

Nothing has changed since Parcells took over in 2003.

We still have a crappy OL. We still have a crappy FS. We still have uneven (to say the least) QB play. The run game finally seemed to be turning the corner, but last night it reverted back to '03-05. We still kill ourselves with mental mistakes in winnable games.

Horrible, horrible loss. Good teams just don't lose like that at home to divisional opponents.

McNabb lives off throwing 5 yard passes that end up 60 yard TD's.

He's West Coast for life.

Our pass rush was inconsistent at best last night, but even on the rare instances we did get one, Manning pretty effectively evaded rushers on some plays.

The problem with Bledsoe isn't mobility - it's complete lack of pocket presense. He takes the snap and runs back and stops. No lateral movement, side steps, etc. He doesn't read the blitz coming - ever.

Yeagermeister pointed something out - that the Giants seem to know our snap count. I noticed it since the Eagles game. I seriously think that Bledsoe is so completely oblivious to the rush that he doesn't know to do a simple thing like alter the count. Pretty sure Romo did do that last night, as 2-3 times he changed some things up when the Giants called blitz.

The point I'm making is: our OL is bad, but the QB makes it look even worse. Go watch AZ - their line is quite a bit worse than ours, but even their rookie QB understands the idea of 3 second release and hot routes.

He throws intermediate passes pretty well too. In the past 2 years he's developed a pretty solid deep ball.

McNabb with Dallas` OL may not be very good, but he wouldn't be throwing countless interceptions to mediocre defenses -- essentially taking away any chance of Dallas winning the games. Bledsoe excels at throwing away the smallest of regular season games.

You are all wet about McNabb. He literally carried his team for parts of the second half on Sunday. He would do OK with our team (minus TO).

I don't even like Mcnabb, but you can't argue from a purely physical point of view, he has the best tools behind this crapfest of a line. My whole point was that no way Brady, Manning, anyone avoids that level of pressure. You could have Vick's legs with Marino's release and Montana's brain, and none of that would matter when guys are flying in untouched.

I had hopes for this team, but I've been telling my friends all year (I live in NY so I especially HATE the Giants) that we'd suck this year even with all we had if our OL wasn't any better than last year. Its not like I'm some football genius, any moron could see that, you would think...

Anyway, under that level of pressure, no one would succeed, no one. That's like asking who would be a great RB when they are getting hit behind the line every play from two sides.

Well, let's hope the boys get it together and pull out of this funk and at least show progress. We have to keep a back in to protect and send at least two people out on hot routes consistently. I hate the WCO offense, but time to bring those quick throws here. I much prefer the long ball, but I'll take 6 yards passes over 6 yards sacks any day of the week. Who knows, maybe we'll get a miracle and both of our lines will pull their heads out of their butts.

You guys would be surprised the amount of coaching that Manning does. He's probably a better line coach anyone we currently have.

Yeah, I dont get the McNabb bashing..

But anywho, I dont think any QB would successful letting future hall of fame players come in unblocked.

That is what people have been trying to say, it is not about the QB, it is about the Offensive Line and the individuals who coach it.

I just keep saying this and it may be a little wishful thinking as his coaching style may not fit the Big Man's scheme, but it would have been nice to get Alex Gibbs, the ex-Broncos OL Coach who is now with the Falcons.

Is this OL talent that horrible or is the coaching of particular techniques and assignments just not up to par?

That's who. Quick release. Best quick release ever.

The OL cannot look good unless the QB releases the ball in an appropriate time frame.

We had the same problems in NE when Bledsoe was the QB. It was the OL. Guess what. NOT.

Yeah, kind of like he did last year in their Playoff Loss? And right after the game he threw his entire OLine under the bus.

When Michael Strahan and other defenders are coming in unblocked, I dont think any QB would have that much success.

It reminds of the play last year, when one of their defenders tackled Bledsoe before the ball was even handed off.

Now that's ugly.

I got an even better question. Do the Cowboys have the worst Offensive Line in Football?

Bledsoe requires protection no OL can give. I admit, our OL isn't elite - but I have yet to see Bledsoe pre-read the blitz/pressure and get the ball to a hot read receiver on a slant, or at least get the ball out.

I don't care how bad your OL is - if the other team knows your QB goes into a shell and won't make you pay for blitzing, they will bring the house everytime.
