I don't expect to see returning veterans or top rookies play much.
That said, here's my list.
·Noah Brown, WR - Haven't heard much about him from camp but maybe he makes some plays with the lights on. We need this kid to push Butler hard, either to stepping up his game or off the roster.
·Rod Smith, HB/FB/ST - I wanted Smith to make the team last year. I wasn't sure how they could have made it happen with a crowded backfield but due to his versatility (in combination with Alfred Morris' one-dimensional skillset) I can see him making the 53 if he shows he hasn't regressed.
·Cooper Rush, QB - Why not?
·Charles Tapper, DE - A sub-4.6 in the 40 yard dash has me really interested to see what this guy can do besides run in a straight line. Misused in college, a redshirt rookie season in the pros, and being a 4th round pick edge rusher that this team desperately needs all adds up to me having my eyes glued to #99.
·Stephen Paea, DT - As a fan of the Cowboys Break podcast, I have been hearing Eatman and Helman rave about this guy since camp started. He may not play much in this game but I want to see him in action, being disruptive.
·Xavier Woods, S - Of all the rookies I expect to see Woods on the field the most. I haven't ever heard this much hype about a 6th round pick so obviously I'll be watching him closely.
