No Romo, Witten or Troy as any coach. Don’t make it an all star team of current HCs.

Here’s mine:

HC: Lincoln Riley
Assistant HC/OL Coach: Bill Callahan
OC: Tom Clements - current pass game coordinator with Kliff
QB: Kitna
RB: Gary Brown (need that Zeke whisperer)
WR: Cale Gundy (current WR coach/co-OC at OU)
TE: Chris Cooley (recently retired, doing announcing. Always admired his consistency)

DC: Rivera (may not be probable but if teams don’t want a retread he’d be best out there)
DL: Brenston Buckner
LB: Mike Singletary (coaching in Texas HS was teammates with Rivera)
DB: Ray Horton

ST: Jay Boulware (current OU special teams coach)

OC: Kevin Wilson (Ohio State)
QB: Scott Turner (Carolina)

OL: Steve Addazio (Boston College)

DC: Gus Bradley (Chargers)
DL: La'Roi Glover (Chargers)

DB: Jeff Hafley (Ohio State)

ST: D.J. Durkin (Falcons)

Bold are former Meyer assistants.

You want this guy to be our TE's coach? Hmmm. No thanks.

HC: Chris Petersen
OC: Kellen Moore
QB: Jon Kitna
OL: Mark Colombo
(Cowboys have the #1 offense in the NFL, I see no reason to make changes. They’ve stumbled in scoring due to poor situational coaching)

DC: Steve Belichick (Patriots)

ST: Someone from the university ranks with a great special teams unit.

That would definitely be an all star cast.

I like this a lot!

If I'm nitpicking...

- Except Cooley lol. Has he ever even coached?
- I'd move on from Brown. I like him, I guess, but I think Zeke could use a new voice, especially since a Riley offense is going to have a different kind of running game.
- Not sure why Buckner would be interested in a lateral move like that.
- I like the idea of Clements, but I think it's probably either him OR Callahan in that sort of vet coach/advisory role. Would be a great coupling to support a new NFL coach though.

Either way, I think this would be a really good staff.

The key for me would be not a single returning coach.
Kitna and Moore to me are the only ones worth anything. Kitna did a great job with Dak. However, I dont see him as a must keep. He may be better off going some place like Chicago or Buffalo and raise his profile by getting the most out of Trubisky or Allen. Both have shown some measure of success, but need work.

Moore cant be fully trusted with an offense yet. He needs to go somewhere wheee he will be a passing game coordinator or be under a strong offensive head coach. If Sleeping With Bieniemy gets a HC job, coaching under Ried would do wonders for Moore

They have beaten up on bad teams. The offense is much less impressive against good teams. We shouldn't be attached to anyone on the offensive staff

Rivera may have wait a year as a HC. In your proposed staff, Horton would be the likely successor. The Jones have been high on both before.

I would resign Garrett then trade him to the Giants for a 1st and 3rd round pick.

Seriously though...I'd take Dan Campbell as HC. Rivera as DC, and keep Moore as OC.

I like Dan Campbell, but he is probably going to have to leave Nola before getting real HC consideration. Maybe take a college and spend a few years building a program

Jerry has missed the boat sticking with Garrett as far as NFL coaches and assistants go. I'm not sure but I don't think lateral moves can be made unless you get permission or it's an upgrade in title. You just can't go around stealing coaches that are under contract from other teams by offering more money. I'm not keen on a college coach so it would take a lot of research to see whom is available.

HC: Either someone out of a job or an assistant that can double as a coordinator
OC: See head coach : Josh McDaniels
DC: Ron Rivera

Let head coach and assistants put together the rest of the staff.

It doesn't work like this...unless Jerry is in charge. Let the new HC choose his staff entirely. It's probably going to be full of guys most of us have never heard of but as long as they know the HC's system and philosophy, that's all that matters.
