Names Nick Harris hearing connected most with the Cowboys at 12

Love it! 2 positions of need that are also both ranked as consensus top 12ish players.
Had to re-watch T-Mac last night, may have discounted him due to Golden's 40 time. I can only confidently say that he is the only true #1 WR in the class. Burden/Golden have that potential, but T-Mac instantly improves our offense. See a better version that Higgins from Cincy.

Mac reminds me of another Cincinnati WR - AJ Green.

I'm not a huge fan of him. Seems raw, like a rotational piece.
i have as the third best edge rusher in the class,he has 19 sacks in the SEC,gladly take him over the flavor of the moment Shamar Stewart who has 4 sacks in his career and doesnt even look like he will get sacks most of the time.

Not a fan of shemar either. Same with Green. In fact, none of the edge guys wow me.

Go to the 29 minute mark. The two players he heard most connected with the Cowboys at the combine were Tet McMillan and Mykel Williams.

NFL draft ratings shows both those as "Will become good NFL starters in two years".

Well, that's all fine and dandy, but at no. 12, if at all possible, you need to draft someone who is rated as "Year 1 starter".

With Dak's injury history and contract, can't afford to wait two years for your first round pick to develop.

Hopefully we'll have another Lamb situation, a player falls down a bit and is available...

Need front 7 help but if you have a high ranked player on the board to drop I feel you take him.
Especially since the number of positions on the team that are fully stocked is so limited, about all is kicker and punter and return specialist. So just about anybody will be an immediate help...

Tet would be the best possible outcome at #12. The league would be insane to let him drop that far.

Dude AVERAGED a 7/109/0.7 slash line per game for 25 games. He beat Travis Hunter when they matched up. Don't overthink it.

But some GMs might get prospect fatigue and indeed overthink it. "Matthew Golden ran a 4.29 and had 2 huge games". Well Tet had two huge seasons.

Anyway, as far as the Cowboys, Tet would be a hand-in-glove fit for what we do. He's that kind of intermediate-range possession receiver that Dak loves to target. His skillset kind of overlaps with CeeDee, but the big thing about him is that he's a brutal cover 1-on-1, so you can't stop both him and Lamb. That would nullify defense's "double CeeDee" gameplans and completely change our offense.

It gives them a 6ft 4 receiver with fantastic hands that can dominate any corner. It gives them an advantage with Lamb out there with him. A great fit for the Cowboys.
Dude is 6'5" with a gigantic wingspan and incredible hands. He's gonna win 90-95% of those contested throws. He's so good that when he's covered, he's still open.

Using the 12th pick on a #2 WR with the holes we have just runs me the wrong way.

Granted they know they have to figure out a way to get something out of Dak and at this point the only way to is just give him so much talent to help him.
They spent a 4th on their WR2. Remember?

Nothing sudden or bizarre about it. Worked for the Cowboys as a writer and was on the draft show last year. Now covers the team for the DFW paper. Well connected to the HS and college recruiting scene. Knows his stuff backwards and forwards. Lucky to have him and Tommy IMO.
He’s great on the draft show IMO. One of the best we’ve had over the years.

I’m a fan but him not running is concerning. He’s probably closer to a 4.6 guy than a 4.5 guy.

I’d be fine with the pick since we’d be looking for him to be a high end #2 but think him and Burden are basically touching tags at this point.

Both make a ton of sense. I think Williams may have gotten leapfrogged by Pearce, so he is very much in the convo. Tet is 50/50 to be there at #12. Id rather go DL, but Id be happy with the value at a premium position
No way on Pierce. There are reports that he has the "worst character" of any of the prospects evaluated at the combine. I know the UT coaching staff had a hard time with him.
