Don't know how many have been paying attention to what NASA is doing in preparation for the retirement of the Space Shuttle program, but the information and tests concerning the new Ares rockets look interesting...

I grew up in the age of Apollo and the Saturn V rocket. While I was always interested in the space program during the shuttle years, I missed seeing the huge Saturn V rockets propel people into space.
However that's all going to change soon.
As a matter of fact there are parts of the Ares rocket that were modeled on those used on the various Saturn's.
It will be a very interesting time for the US space program and for those of us interested in that type of space travel.
