Nate said some interesting things about what is wrong with the cowboys, practice, wade, and players. I dont think DC posted the video, if he did, sorry i reposted, if not, i think its very telling.

To me nate pointed out about practice this year in training camp and no hitting the first 25 days. Thats right zoners no hitting from wade the first 25 days. How can you get into tempo of hitting, being physical, so listen to it if you havent, let me know what you think.

To me, it showed what was wrong with the team, coaches, management, etc.

yet when we had hard training camps, it was bad too.

Exactly.

People swore up and down the reason the Cowboys were fading in December under Parcells is because he drove them too hard in TC.

If I remember correctly, Larry Brown said this was going on in practices throughout the year on one of the post game shows this season.

And yet the team didn't start poorly?

I think everyone is wanting to find that ONE thing that went wrong, and it's just not that simple. At one time or another, every single aspect of this team fell apart.

Over the years I've seen video clips of what training camp was like during the Jimmy Johnson years. It was a tough grind in the blistering texas heat in Austin. Not only that but I saw lots of drills being done, tough tackling drills, drills on quickness and agility and also various other types of drills going on and then there was always enduring Jimmy's mental "abuse" to an extreme.

In seeing clips and images of Cowboys training camp going back to 6 or 7 years ago, including the Parcells years, training camp has never compared to what Jimmy's camps were like. I can't remember seeing quickness and agility drills, tackling drills none of that stuff. I didn't even see the training equipment on the field like was there when Jimmy was running camp. Equipment like tackling dummies the sled and rope square thing that players run through for quickness and agility.

Now I admit I haven't been to any of these camps and I am only going on a limited view of what I see in news coverage during training camp and the camera footage they show. But it's something that has kinda stood out to me, the difference between what Jimmy did and what's being done now. Maybe the Cowboys do those things when the media is not around or maybe they leave all that up to the players during the offseason I don't know. But if they aren't doing those things anymore, as a team, then maybe this is a viable reason for their late season collapses. Just throwing it out there.

And no matter how many times we hear it, from reliable sources, you still have some on this board arguing on behalf of Jerry and on behalf of Wade Phillips.

Its not about how you start, its about how you finish and it is about a TOUGHNESS needed when times get tough. This team is soft.

I agree that this team is soft. I just happen to think they are softer mentally and emotionally than they are physically.

yep to me this team is soft too, mentally and physically.

glad you guys liked the post.

I was hoping that some way it gets back to cowboys, jerry jones and good ole wade, so he can fix the sloppy way he has been having the players practice.

The biggest problem i think is this;
most of the cowboys want to be treated like professionals, but without all of the hard work, sweat, tears, blood and guts.

it just doesnt work that way,

wade has had 2 years now of doing things his way, the soft way, and it just doesnt work, you cant treat these players like professionals,

you have to treat them like kids, and work them, hard, till some leaders arise on this team that will hold other players accountable,

till you get some michael irvin, troy aikmans, emmitt smith, darren woodsons, kevin gogan, bill bates, charles haley to kick the players rear ends when it is needed, and make them accountable.

the other reason why you want players like that,

is one of the biggest reasons on this team, they will find out what player or players are blabbing, and telling what should be kept in the locker room, and they will shut those players up, that is needed on this team badly
