It seems the coaching staff gave Nate Thomas some snaps at both RT and LT. Him lining up at RT in the backfield penalty is unfortunately the first time I noticed him. The second time I noticed him he was at LT and he absolutely dominated Parsons. He might be better than both our starting tackles.

I'd love to see him take over at ROT next year, or sooner.

I think he feels more comfortable and natural at LT.

And yes, he got help with Micah. He also got off balance a couple of times. But I also saw Micah try to run through him and it was like MP hit a brick wall.

I still want this guy on the field somewhere.

Well this could be a positive

He was playing at Left Tackle late in the game.

Was Guyton hurt?
I’m not sure. The last time I noticed Guyton was when he over extended and Micah blew right by him. It wasn’t a good look for a starting Left Tackle who was a first round pick.

Yeah getting beat by the top pass rusher in the game twice is not a good look. Guyton played well.

Me too, but in saying that, Steele does well in run blocking. There’s been a good few times this season where Williams has run directly behind him.

Having Thomas (or someone else) as a solid pass blocker to rotate with Steele would certainly be fine.

Anyone have an idea if linemen typically clear concussion protocol in a week?

O-line was the deepest position in the offseason, sure glad that was the case because by next week if Guyton can’t go basically the entirety of that depth will have been active for at least one game. And that’s not even including the fact that we claimed Trevor Keegan.

Guyton
Smith
Beebe
Booker
Steele

Hoffman
Bass
Thomas
Adeniji
Keegan
Cornelius

11 players active and 8 of them making starts if Guyton is out next week. Gotta credit the FO for building the depth here cuz we absolutely have needed it.

Funny that we’re one more injury away from calling back Saahdiq Charles or La’El to the practice squad.

...when I saw Steele out and Thomas in.

I felt relief. ;).

Don’t know, but he need to stay there, move Guyton to RT maybe…..he looked pretty decent out there. Best player plays, screw draft status.

It's not really a matter of being better, it's a matter of complimenting....and working as a team. Guyton (with admittedly a lot of help) and then Nate coming in as a 'Closure' to contain a tiring Micah was a pretty excellent strategy.
