Not with Peterson, because this guy is a legit. He is already a top five prospect. A productive top five prospect that has the game tape (SEC game tape) to back up any 40 time or short shuttle at the combine.

I understand the workout buzz that he deserves today and throughout the draft process. Any corner—or safety—that can carry a weight of almost 220 and turn in a sub 4.4 in the 40 going to find a place on an NFL roster. That is reality in this league.

Note:Hmmm, could it really happen, peterson fall some in draft, I am hearing teams are asking him if he would be willing to move to safety and he said yes now, so top safeties arent taken till about 5th pick. I wonder if peterson does fall some to say 5th or 6th slot in first round, what hostile would do if Cowboys trade up for him? :D

If you've got a super athletic top 5 talent, but is better suited for safety, I think you still have to take him. A safety is a playmaker position. (meaning someone playing that position can dictate the game) While you might not want to take a safety top 5, if you land a an Ed Reed or Ronnie Lott type player, you do it.

For the right guy, I take a safety top 5.

Positions I would never take top 5: Guard, Center, RT, Kicker, Punter, or FB.

Positions that I would have to be blown away to take top 5 (super star in the making): TE, WR, 3-4 DE, Safety, ILB, NT, DT, RB

Peterson as a safety, I would take top 5. I think it might take Peterson a year or two to really start to stand out, but he can start now.

I think the worst part is not only do we want him, but I'm fairly certain he wants to play in Dallas, and might get stuck spinning his wheels for a garbage team until free agency hits.

I don't like changing guys to safeties.

What does that mean?

You put a player in the position he is best suited for. Personally, I think he and Prince are both best suited for safety. I think Peterson can play both positions though.

Let's see....

Dynamic? Check.
Playmaker? Check.
Great size? Check.
Arguably the best athelete draft? Check.
Won award as best DB in college last year? Check.
Won award as best Defensive player in all of college last year? Check.

Yeah, if you are doubting whether he would be worth a top pick in this draft then you are just looking for things to be critical of. Every pick is a crap shoot. You can only take the information you have with respect to measurables and performance and make a prediction. And with the data we have, he deserves to be a top pick as least as much as anyone in recent history.

By the way, when you hear people question conventional wisdom, 9 times out of 10 what you are hearing are people who are desperate to sound clever who act as a contrarian in hopes of suggesting that they are so clever that they see something everyone else is too dumb to see.

That's all this Patrick Peterson questioning is. People wanting to act like they are more knowlegable than the obvious conventional wisdom.

Let's just hope we can find a way to nab him.

It sucks that we could miss out on 10 years of this guy on our team because of that stupid waste of a game in Philly.

I think he is gone in the top two picks.

He's a corner and going to be a very good one. Moving him to safety would be very unnecessary and actually undervaluing him.

The guy can shut people down. Bump cover them man to man. Scare a QB from throwing at his side consistently since he can pick one off and take it the distance at anytime.

Sure he can play safety, but more importantly he's gonna be one of the best corners in the game and he's definitely the best corner prospect coming out for quite some time now.

Take Peterson because you want the best corner in the draft.

Pretty much!
