for mavs fans (and all nba fans really) that believe in nba conspiracy theories!

I'm not longer an NBA fan due to how corrupt the NFL officiating is. I'm not even talking about how it applies to the Mavs.

For me it all started in the 2002 Lakers vs Kings Western Conference finals when the Kings beat the Lakers in game seven, but the refs refuse to let Kobe and Shaq fail to make the NBA championship series.

Then you keep seeing superstar players getting phantom calls putting them at the line while non-superstar players can get roughed up by superstar players (Shaq, etc) and no call it made.

Fouls should be called the same, but they aren't. What makes it more stupid is some people think because they are superstars, it's justified. :banghead:

Sports is supposed to be about competition on played on an even ground.

There is NOTHING even about the NBA and it's officiating.

I am not a fan.

Good timing on your post.

I was in my car at about 5:30 pm today (Tuesday Mavs/Blazer game day) and they were talking about how Crawford is the ref tonight. OMG!

They said so there has been so much talk nationally about it that Stern is pissed that it's distracting from the game...can't blame him.

Then they had an ex NBA ref on who said when the Mavs lost 9 in a row with that guy reffing (this is back when they were getting 60 wins a year), he used to brag about it at the bar with the other refs.

He said he LOVED sticking it Cuban, but was otherwise a good ref. lol
I saw a stat once that had some amazing figure on how often the Mavs lose when Crawford refs and how great the record was otherwise--it was statistically impossible.

And people still say that guy was not crooked in that fated NBA Final series...you'd have to be blind to not see the bias.
But that's history...

The good news for the Mavs is that this is so public now, he'll have to be on good behavior tonight:)

Of course, the bigger obsticle is trying to beat an angry and very good Blazer team.

I heard that segment. It was Tim Donaghy who they had on saying this stuff. And according to the article, the Mavs have lost 16 of the last 17 playoff games he's worked.

If I were a betting man I would bet the Mavs win tonight since this is in the news.

What does corrupt NFL officiating have to do with being a NBA fan?

Just want to say "I Told you so" to everyone picking the Magic over the Hawks.

Don't be surprised if Atlanta beats the Magic, and the takes the Bulls in 6 games either.

I'll take a bet on the series, but not them getting swept
Still taking that bet for Portland?
Could happen.
PM me if you still are.
I think you later did say Portland in 6 ( 1st choice) or possibly Mavs in 7 (2nd choice).

and actually, if the lakers continue to play like crap, that series could be very interesting! but, both the lakers and mavs have games to win before that happens

Butler won't be 100%, but he is cleared to go full speed now. They said he was sprinting, dunking, and getting nice lift on his jumpers after practice the other day. I can't imagine he would be ready to go right away.

If they advance, he could help later on.

i doubt he will make any sort of impact this year at all, even in game 7 of the finals, i know its not that serious, but just look at cp3, it took him basically a full season to get back to form
