Chris Paul backed up his fandom with a visit to Cowboys practice on Thursday, calling it one of the highlights of his career, as he spoke to the team and took pictures with many of the players, including Tony Romo, Dez Bryant and DeMarcus Ware.

"I didn't have a message," Paul said. "I told the guys how big a fan I am. I am just honored and privileged to be here."

"I used to act like I was Ken Norton in the backyard playing linebacker," Paul said. "My dad was a huge fan of Drew Pearson. I can't wait to send pictures to my dad. My family is going to go nuts. It's serious. I slept on Cowboys sheets in college. I remember many years going to be affected by if the Cowboys won or lost. It's serious. I don't miss anything. I can't wait to get home Sunday to watch the Hall of Fame Game."
Paul said he was a pretty good football player himself, playing quarterback on the varsity as a freshman in high school while managing to only make the junior varsity in basketball.

I pull for players who are Cowboy fans only anymore......

My favorite baseball player is Bryce Harper and now my favorite basketball is CP3........why? Because they both LOVE the Cowboys as little kids! We have something in common......a strong bond that others do not understand......I am 52 years old and I was like a little kid.........I had tears in my eyes at Oxnard when I saw Coach Tom Landry's statue in the Cowboys Museum as I reflected on the 1st and only time I spoke with him in 1980.

I resemble those remarks. I think I'm Chris Paul in drag ... except for the Cowboys sheets part. My friends (and family for that matter) just don't understand. My Cowboy fandom is serious. And my family are fans!!!

The one thing i remember from training camp in Oxnard when hard knocks was there is that it seemed like the people in the organization hated rowdy. He was always doing his own thing and riding his ATV all over the place during practice. He at one point just left it on the field and some coach had to move it.

It's cool to see guys who are celebrities in their own right turn into adoring fans and appear just as excited as any of us would.

I never liked Chris Paul, ever since his days at Wake Forest and the infamous nut shot. I believe he is just whiny and immature. But I like the fact that it brings even more exposure to the Cowboys.

What's cool is that he is a huge star, but he was SOOO excited to get to spend time with the DC players. He looked like a kid in a candy store, just like all of us would have been acting.....Never really liked or disliked CP, but now I'll have to pay more attention to him..Funny how that works isn't it...

Russell Westbrook is also a huge Dallas Cowboys fan. He's tweeted while watching games many times, and he is outspoken about his fandom. He's been to several Cowboys games since he's been in OKC. And I know that Kendrick Perkins is a big Cowboys fan as well. (I'm a huge Thunder fan).

So between Westbrook, CP3 and LeBron, three of the five or six best basketball players in the world are big Dallas Cowboys fans. Pretty sweet.

I'm now a fan of all three of those guys. CP3, Westbrook & LeBron. It's cool how these guys are just like us, gone nearly 18 years without success and still love the Cowboys. Pretty awesome
