NBC booth crew discussing Bledsoe/Romo QB "controversy"

King swore Hutchinson was going to be the next great thing....

He knows nothing and has no inside access in Dallas.

Local media like Galloway started this crap almost as a joke and as usual the national mediots are merely a day late and a dollar short.

Even Costas is getting in on the stupidity. TO made 4 practices last week not 1 or 2. It is pretty easy to comprehend that the guy isnt 100% and he isn't gonna play against the Saints and likely wont practice any more 2 a days this season.

His one hour private talk with Bill (that JJT reported) is more than most of the local reporters will see in their entire stint in Dallas.

BTW: Madden just said the best thing he's seen in preseason so far has been the Cowboys D

Peter King said it was just his opinion....but now Madden and the gang said, " If you didnt hear earlier Romo may start the first game of the season instead of Bledsoe. "

They're saying Parcells is considering starting Bledsoe because Romo has more escapability.

I will be shocked, I mean "fall out of my chair and spill my freshly-opened beer" shocked, if Romo plays except in the case of Bledsoe injury. We all thought Hensen would get the chance two seasons ago when our playoff chances were going down the tubes and Vinnie Testeverde was dealing with "old man's noodle arm", but obviously we were all wrong. Bledsoe is no Testeverde. He's not budging from that starting spot.

I think Romo should start...

Next year. If he does well this season we MUST get him resigned.

Well, he does chat w/ Tuna alot FWIW. Most other reporters don't have that access (none of the local media).

This wouldn't shock me at all if Tuna sees our OL as inept (Flozel not 100% back, etc.)

Its preseason guys. The media is desperate for a story in Dallas after Parcells blew up the most recent made up T.O story.

You guys know how many Bills fans want Frank Reich to start over Jim Kelly? Alot of them. Dont you think it was smart to stay with Jimbo? Same situation here except Reich actually had NFL experience with the greatest comeback in NFL history so he had a leg to stand on.. Romo does not.

The guy in entitled to state his opinion. What's all the fuss about?

When it has little or no basis in fact, it's worth a lot of fuss.

Yeah, Peter King knows about as much about football as a third string water-boy

no worries kartr someday you will get promoted to 3rd string water boy.

I have my fingers crossed for you.

I got pissed when Sterling Sharpe got all serious about how he is tired of the TO and Parcells stuff.
I yelled at my TV... "You dumb*** media types should stop talking about it then!".

As far as Peter King is concerned I am not putting to much into his opinion.
This is one of the guys who has kept the Boys out of the Hall.
I do think that Bledsoe will have a short leash this year however.

In other words, he doesn't know jack about it. Why even say it if it's just your opinion? These "reporters" nowadays should have their title changed to "storytellers."

Except in this case the "storyteller" is an old Parcells friend from the days when he used to be a beat reporter for the Giants and had a 40 minute one-on-one conversation with him earlier this week.

If he stated it as fact, then you are correct. If he said it is only his opinion, then it's no big deal. If he said that the omnipresent "some" in the organization are talking about it, then we don't know whether it has a basis in fact or not.

I didn't hear the dialog, but several people here have stated it's just his opinion. Not much different than a lot of other stuff reporters speculate on.

And?

The writing was on the wall months before that.

Exactly, we all knew from the time we knew the Eagles would cut him that somehow, some way, Owens would be a Cowboy.

With or without that conversation Peter King stated it was just his opinion... that nobody in the organization had given him the indication. I also find it interesting that King only showed up to Cowboys camp late this week for what 1-2 days?? So he can get the pulse of the Cowboys from 1-2 days of watching TC...? He said himself BP didn't give him that impression.
