Dez is the last player I worry about missing practice, a meeting or a rehab session while injured. And he hasn't been in any trouble off the field either.

that is because he was supervised, and dez wants 0 supervision and the big contract, and then like this says about voiding G $.
I doubt they make a deal today. Dez wants too much and I dont mean just money.

I don't have a clue as to whether Dez will ever get a long term deal from the Cowboys. Doesn't sound like
it at this point unless he capitulates and eventually signs a "team friendly" deal like other players. If he doesn't
he must play, if he wants to play, on tags for the next two years. In the event he decides to sit out and only
play for 6 games, the Cowboys will start the process of looking for another lead dog WR and you can bet
Will McClay will find one. It may be someone let go close to the season opener, but it will happen. I think
Stephen is running the deals and contracts now and he has learned from the New England model that you don't
overpay any player except for a "Franchise QB" period. IMVHO!

I put this in its own separate thread because it brings up topics about guarantees that could apply to all future Cowboys and offers something unique to the contract talks.

It can certainly be merged as needed.

It looks like this was the last hurdle to clear. The money and the APY are very basic. All this guarantee stuff was the holdup.

Seeing tweets that the $45 million is fully guaranteed.

That's scary. And that's got to be Jerry's doing.

So what you're saying is...if contract details are good it's Stephen's doing....if contract details are bad it's Jerry's doing....ok

That's been the case for a while now if you're paying attention.
