NBCDFW: Wade: No Practice On Christmas Day

Saturday night game set us up perfectly for the Tuesday practice.

Win or lose - people will be stupid to blame it on not practicing Friday.

It did. Because of that this is less of a change in routine than if we had played Sunday.

Nothing to stop the players from watching some film and going over the game plan. That being said I think Wade made the correct call. Nothing is more important than family.......except missing the playoffs.

True. Just put Jr. on your lap as you watch film and tell him. See that punk right there jr. daddy is gonna mess him up real bad this weekend, see that is how Daddy was able to buy you all these nice toys. :laugh2:

Makes sense to me. You must take one day off and they chose the best day...Christmas Day.
I would not be surprised if many or most teams took both Tuesday and 1/2 day Friday. See Parcells as a reference....he thought it was critical to give down days late in the season to keep the vets fresh.

But on the topic, I like getting that day off....but I'm really looking forward to watching San Diego and Tennessee that night!

Cheers

We played last Saturday, so going back to practice on Tuesday would be the same schedule as if we had played on Sunday and went back to practice Wednesday. If we had not practiced until Wednesday, that would have been four days after a huge win. I'd rather have the players get refocused sooner.

I can see how missing Christmas with their families could potentially leave some bad feelings lingering, too. I'm glad they're off. They can come back in refreshed and happy.

Nothing says "Merry Christmas" like whipping some Commanders ***. :D

Wow this thread is getting hijacked. Can we all just agree that it is a holiday, and players made up their time earlier in the week?

Ah, Wade you're a good man.

I would love to play for yew.

Soft, marshmallow coach.

PRACTICE THEM YOU DIMWIT. THEY ARE PAID MILLIONS TO PLAY FOR HALF A YEAR!
A 3-hOUR PRACTICE IS NOT GOING TO SCREW THEIR FAMILY LIVES OR RUIN THEIR KIDS

get to work WADE, YOU STUPID PIECE OF WORTHLESS GUTLESS PABLUM!

Good call since I doubt the players will be really focused practicing on Christmas day.

Dude, what exactly did you not understand about swapping Tuesday for Friday??? The are still having the same amount of practice time, they just are going to be off on Friday instead of being off on Tuesday.

Seriously, it is like some of you guys look for anything at all to crap on Wade for. I have been one of Wade's biggest critics, but I see absolutely nothing wrong with having practice on Tuesday and giving Friday off. They are still practicing the exact same amount of time and they also get to spend time with their families.

From listening to Sirius this week, alot of coaches are giving their teams at least half the day off. I do not recall if they practiced Tuesday, my guess is they didn't.

Practice Tuesday and have Friday off, or no practice on Tuesday and only get a half day of Practice on Friday. Don't think it matters eaither way, really.

Non-issue IMO, even if they lose. Sounds like grasping for some story, any POSSIBLE story here.

I have no problems with it. They practiced on Tuesday, so they didn't lose any prep time.

Somebody's trying to dig up controversy again.

Yep. A lame article. So Wade gave his players off on Christmas. God bless him for doing so.

This team should be able to beat the Deadskins with half the week off just based on team talent. As always, it's more of a mental issue with this team and if letting them spend time with family on christmas gets them in a right frame of mind, so be it. They just need to do their jobs come Sunday night.
