Caleb Williams, star OU Qb, is transferring to USC. This is on top of 3 big time recruits who decommitted from OU to transfer to USC. The school will officially take up the moniker USC Sooners shortly.

The transfer portal sure makes the whole recruiting season more exciting. Not sure giving 18 years free reign over college football is a good idea, but its happening. Literally, the entire Alabama team could just walk out and transfer to Boise State and make them instant title contenders. These are crazy times in the CFA.

The transfer portal cuts both ways. It also allow teams to sign players they would not previously had access to.

Last year for example, the Sooners signed 3 from the portal. The RB they signed from Tennessee had a good season.

I like the 1-time instant free rule for the transfer portal but hopefully it's kept at that.
Guys should definitely get a free out as a 17-year olds decision shouldn't lock him in for 5 years but you also shouldn't allow free transfers every year and just have kids go to 4-5 schools.

OU decided to hire a Head Coach with deep south ties.
So yea those Cali kids were all going to bolt for sure when the coaches they trusted moved local.
Caleb was looking for a QB guru in a big-time offense and massive NIL opps.
Venables will have to prove he will provide that offense but he got the deep south guy in UCF's Gabriel(tho originally from Hawaii).

USC is going to be pretty good pretty fast imo.
B12 is wide open next year but I don't see anyone elite; just 4-5 teams that will likely be good to very good.
