We're going to New Orleans but ticket prices have gotten so high it looks like we'll be watching the game on Bourbon Street or somewhere in the French Quarter. Does anybody know a good place to watch the game?

Thanks!!

Oz or The Pub.

:D

Seriously though, Bourbon isn't the greatest place to watch games but...

Johnny White's Sports Bar, 720 Bourbon

Kabby's Sports Edition in the Hilton Riverside

Gordon Biersch Brewhouse in the Harrah's Casino

You can probably walk down the street and watch the game through the windows. It should be easy to find many places with the game. Johnny White's Sports Bar, the only bar that never closed during or after Katrina, is at 720 Bourbon.

Yup, agree with the above.

They'll be playing in every bar in the quarter. You'll likely be overrun before and after the game since you're only a couple blocks from the dome. Better pack light and get there EARLY.

Go to the Famous Door on Bourbon street. After the game they have a great rock and roll band that plays live music.

Sugar Shack

Never heard of it, but I very rarely go to Bourbon. If you want restaurant recs, I can do that, but sports bars on Bourbon? Meh.

Sounds good. I'll take restaurant recs too. I want some good thin and crispy catfish, the best jambalaya, best BBQ shrimp, a solid po boy, etc.

And I'm just looking for dives. No white tablecloths, no tourist traps. Just the good stuff.

Rick's has a VIP section with a large TV. I'd go there, if we get blown out there's always the nice dancers and the pretty waitresses to get your mind off the game. Ask for Megan to wait on you. Nice girl.

Gross. New Orleans, what a latrine.

I love New Orleans. I don't think it's a latrine at all, unless you're sitting in a gutter on Bourbon Street. Then, understandable.

Watching the game with a bunch of "who dats" sounds as exciting as watching paint dry.;)

I usually go to Pluckers Wing Bar to catch the NFL Network games. That place is going to be as quiet as a Cathedral watching that beat down we are going to get.

I just hope we dont get embarrassed.:(

Agree 100%! I'll take a 3-day weekend in NO over a week on either coast anytime!

Those that think New Orleans is a "latrine", don't know New Orleans, and most likely have never been there.

I have such fond memories of living there, this time of year especially.

The Christmas Eve bonfires on the levee along the river road in Gramercy, are one of the most beautiful experiences I've ever had.
