I don't even want to comment on how much hate is going on in this thread, but anyways I feel the Ron suspension was the right amount of games. It should've never happened in the first place and Ronnie is the wrong for how he handled the situation, but in all honesty I don't think Ron even knew he was there. I've watched the replay numerous times, and I think the excessive celebration took a turn for the worse. As for being the NBA's favorite, we are far from it. It's just you Texas boys are sipping on the haterade a little too hard.
:D

By the way Pau Gasol is avg 17 pts and 11 rebounds a game, please enlighten on how he isn't one of the best bigs in the game.

i hate the lakers as much as anyone, if i were to ever see derek fisher in the streets, i would boo him! but there are a few things being discussed here that are just not right, firstly by C&LF, gasol is better than bynum right now, maybe in a year he will be better, and if he stays healthy he will have the better career, but right now, gasol is better. and to the gasol haters, he is literally the second best big man in the league, only dwight howard is better, thats no joke! gasol is good, excellent, rebounder, passer, shooter, good post moves, decent defensively, he is taller than almost every power forward in the league!

now, as for the trade, the reason that was a bad trade for the hornets, and the reason that stern vetoed it, THE ONLY REASON, is because he was trying to get the team ready to be sold, and he couldnt take on those contracts, no matter how good those players are! it had NOTHING to do with some ridiculous vendetta against the league's cash cow, come on, get real! it was a business decision for the viability of the franchise, so that the new owner could shape it with lots of cap space and picks.

I love Pau, but he's not better than Bynum right now. Not anymore. That's no knock on him it's just a testament to how much Bynum has improved. He's the best big man in the game right now. I'd take him over Howard easily because he has a great low post game which Howard doesn't.

Seriously? You're a "Lakers fan" living in San Antonio. That's about as bandwagon as it gets.

What does my city have to do with it? There's a lot of Lakers here in San Antonio I guess they're all bandwagons as well.

They made contact well before he threw the elbow. He damn well knew he was there. That was exactly why he threw the elbow. He has already missed an over an entire season in game due to suspension. He hasn't learned a damn thing. He needs to be ban from the NBA. He is mentally unbalanced and a thug. He doesn't deserve to play in the NBA. (and only a few NBA players deserve to play with him) :muttley:

if we are talking strictly physical, you are right, but i have to take into account pau's basketball IQ and attitude, and i think if you include those, he has a slight edge over bynum.

Well I wasn't talking about attitude. If you factor in attitude then Pau is better than both Bynum and Howard lol.

:laugh2: i think howards incredible defensive skill outweighs it though, thats why he is the best big man, even though offensively he isnt even in the top 5

I'm a Laker fan and I think Artest's elbow was definitely intentional, but not malicious. I think it was one of those situations in a game where you feel someone up next to you and you just swing your arms basically telling them to back off. You see these kind of things happen in games where refs are trying to pull guys away from each other and they push them away without looking who it is. Artest was excited after the dunk which cut the lead to 1, felt Hardin bump/come up next to him and was basically trying to giving him a "get the F off me" elbow. Unfortunately for him his aim was too high and he probably swung it harder than he expected too (maybe from the adrenalin or getting caught up in the moment). He probably should have done what most guys do and just push the other guy away. I don't know why but pretty much every NBA player (outside of a play) likes to try to get in another players way and or walk through them instead of going around them or slowing down so they won't bump into each other. After every play you can see guys purposely walk into another guy and bump shoulders. I guess it's just a macho thing. I don't know why Hardin felt the need to get in front of Artest and create the contact when it looked like he was trying to get the in-bound pass from Ibaka -- normally you'd want to get away from a defender.

I don't know how I feel about the suspension yet... It depends on how Hardin's health is. I definitely don't feel it's too long. I will say that I've seen stuff that's looked just as bad get shorter suspensions or no suspensions at all (Bruce Bowen kicking Szczerbiak in the face, Bowen sticking his foot under a jump shooter, Raja Bell clotheslining Kobe).

I'll never understand why rooting for a team means you have to suspend reality from what the facts clearly show.

Yeah, "Ronnie" was just celebrating... Most people celebrate by drawing back one elbow -- not both, just one -- to their chin and then swinging it as hard as they can not even at shoulder level, but at ear level.

Oh yeah, Harden's head just *happened" to be right there where Artest's elbow was.

Give me a break.

No kidding. If he did not know Harden was there, he would have acted surprised after his elbow hit him. He didn't. He just kept on walking, like the idiot he is.

The guy should be banned suspended the rest of the year and then some next year. Stern should have laid down the law.

Someone needs to come and lay Artest out on the court for the s*** he has done in his career.

Just stop. You look pathetic trying to justify that as an accidental assault. Harden had already touched Artest (**** that weak "world peace" PR crap) so he knew someone was there, but he threw the elbow anyways.

He should be suspended indefinitely considering his past, Luis Scola's incident be damned.

No you people look pathetic and soft trying to say MWP should be banned for life for something that happened all the time in the 90's.

You're not allowed to talk about stuff that happen before you were born. (which is not true anyhow)
