Rayman, have you consulted with an Attorney about the fall at work your Wife experienced?
yes. We hired a personal injury Lawyer last year and are using the Law firms pain management doctors in Dallas so she can at least get injections. If she wins the case, the doctors get paid by us, but if she loses, we pay nothing, the Lawyer does. Her Dr Bill for the work injury treatment btw is almost 35k and climbing. In 2 weeks I have to take her again to Dallas. In Texas employers do not have to carry workers comp, which is nutty. Thats why we had no choice but to sue. They just weren't helping her . It was all caught-on camera too and they even admit it. She fell in a pot hole in the concrete at the front door where she worked. It had been there unfixed for 2 years. Classic negligence. Its in arbitration now. So we also had to apply for ssdi/ssi last summer to try to get the ball rolling. She cannot work anymore. She had been there on her job for 7-8 years. Loved her job. Now shes a shell of herself. Everything you can imagine has happened to her health.

Don’t worry about atelectasis. That is tied to her weight. Once she loses weight it will get better
yes it will if she can ever get her knees fixed so she can move. But yeah. THE WATER PILLS are helping but the Dr is worried about the damage already done. Thanks

I dont know the situation so take my suggestions with a tablespoon of salt:

Diastolic HF is about fluid excess, salt, BP, obesity.

COPD is about smoking

My suggestions (if possible)

She and you have to decide to turn your life around. Not TRY but WILL

Main objectives:
1. Lose weight
2. Increase functional capacity

Understand that there is no shortcut. This WILL take time and effort and consistency and will be frustrating

Stop smoking (if she is)
Eat 80% of her food not 100%
Absolutely No soda, no juices: drink only water
Absolutely no snacking
Eat only baked or grilled food. Nothing fried
Minimize salt

Use oxygen for now. It will help her be more active
Use her inhalers as prescribed
Control BP

Start walking daily this way:
Day 1: see what she can do at her own pace, lets say it is 5 min (use walker if needed)
Week 1: daily walk 5 min
Week 2: daily walk 10 min
Week 4: daily walk 15 min and so on

Once you get to 30 min: increase the distance walked in 30 min

Follow this every single day with no days off

Things can be a lot different in 3 months

Good luck
Baby steps for sure. Yup. Thanks.

she gets plasma injections in her knees, hands, genicular nerve blocks. Kinda hard to lose weight when your in terrible pain and can barely walk. But the goal is to get some of her mobility back. We pray about it every day. We want this ride to end. She worked 35 years or so of her life, and now a bunch of major hurdles all at one time. We will not give up.

Glad to hear you are seeking damages for their negligence. Keep us posted if you can.

yeah np, I will post what a can when I can on that front. It could go well, or not. Last we were told expect another 6 month wait for a decision. Meanwhile, we keep on keeping on with the treatments. I know I am tired, worn down to a frazzel. Its taken a toll on my wife and I, everything. This message board at least takes my mind off of these things temporarily.

the heart condition has caused her to swell up, retain fluid, so they put her on water pills and potassium for the heart and some kinda other stuff. Shes so swelled up with fluid. Thanks for asking Visionary. I think I just about covered most of it. That and shes on about 20 different kinds of meds, not counting injections of ozempic for the diabetes. Shes in pain too.
I think the oxygen should help with the fluid retention, right?

This is a horrible situation, brother. Ordinarily, I'd tell you to sue only for medical expenses, but the way they just seemed to cast her aside makes me think you should get as much as possible in the lawsuit.

I am currently recovering from a serious health issue and one of things I used to improve my recovery was Blueberry extract, the anthocyanins in blueberries were extremely beneficial for my recovery. The only side effect was that too much of it can lower your blood sugar too much. I told this to an older friend whose serum glucose levels were over 200. He started taking it and his last A1C is now normal. This may be helpful for her diabetes. If interested you can PM me for the brand I use and some health protocols that may be helpful for her other health issues.

Cayenne pepper helps also. Prayers for you and your wife. Lost mine 5 years ago and what a loss it was. I mix up an ounce of water and teaspoon of Cayenne pepper every morning and can feel it in my blood.
