I am in the process of changing over my gas station/convenience store from a branded to an independent. I need to select a logo and name for the location.
I'm considering a blue star and the name "star mart"....any suggestions??

Shop Smart, Shop S-Mart :p:

On a serious note, the above poster's idea of 5-Stars seems to be a good one IMO.

Thanks. Is the address on Whitehall? If so,what's the number, and I can plug it in to my GPS if I'm over that-a-way!

Personally, I don't like generic names with "Mart" in them. They sound cheap. (Look at Walmart, K-MART, Thrift Mart, Dollar Mart, etc) ;)

Growing up in south Ft. Worth, we had stuff like Quickway, Speedy Bees, etc. All the "Mart" stores, I avoided. They were usually dirty and had an oder. To me the name Mart reflects badly IMO. (of course, thats just me. I'm sure not everyone feels the same way)

You are in South Carolina right? That area is big into NASCAR right? How about Speedway or something like that? I would pick a name that your customers can relate too, yet still be at least somewhat distinct. ...and avoid MART! ;)

Build yourself a non-generic brand name. :)

Speedway is already a chain of gas stations in parts of the east also sometimes called super America.

Although I guess you could find something else with the nascar theme to it. Checkered Flag or something along those lines.

This isnt meant to be racial or anything, but isnt there some big advantage for these conv stores to be owned by non-Americans? Taxes? 0% loans or something??

Does it have bathrooms? If so, then PUMP-N-DUMP?

GIT-N-SCRAM?

HUMPTY-PUMPTY? "Where fuel prices fall!"

OR GO SUPER CHEESEY!!

Take this one I thought of for example. Just make sure you have a mannequin of a guy sitting out front drinking some lemonade. You'll become a tourist spot.

If you want to go with something Southern/NASCAR related then what about The Pit Stop? It definitely works for a gas station/conveinence store.

And no I'm not saying all southerns like NASCAR, I'm from Jersey and I watch NASCAR ... 48 car all day baby! (I used to work for Lowe's sorry lol)

The name doesn't really matter. StarMart is fine. The most successful bagel shop by me was called The Bagel Shop. That place was packed from 6-9am 12-2pm and 3-5pm and steady the rest of the open hours. They had the best food out of all the bagel places and competitive prices. With a gas station its going to be your location, your service, and your prices for gas and the store that get people to go there, not a name.
