The more I think about it, the more I think all but the corner column are just decorative. I bet they're hollow, and if you cut a hole in the side, there's no lolly column inside them.

I've seen some hollow-core posts used in structural areas. I'm sure you can imagine how that ended up You just never know what you're going to get with contractors these days. I get so many jobs because I walk through step by step of what I'm going to do when I'm sitting down with the homeowner. Whereas the other guys just give him a price and say they'll put up siding or gutters or a deck or a roof.
