Of the early NFL cuts, most surprising is Ras-I Dowling by Jets. Former 2nd round pick by Pats. Teams have til 4 pm ET Tuesday to get to 75.

Ras-I Dowling only played 6 snaps during the Jets first 3 preseason games. He'd been battling injuries.

Victor Butler would only be serviceable as a situational pass rusher. He was pretty good at it, though.

I'm thinking we're waiting for the final cuts to bring in a DE or two for pass rush purposes.

I would bring in Butler as a situational speed edge rusher at DE. He's light in the pants but he had shown us he can do it before.
