Need vid help

A friend called me and needs some help. This needs to be a simple solution that's quick and dirty.

He has 50 pics and about 14 songs. Wants the audio files to play in the background behind the pics.

I suggested putting the pics in powerpoint and having only five songs playing in the background with them transitioning at the 10 pic mark.

Suggestions?

Power Point would be the easiest in my opinion.
