Dallas needs speeeeeeeeeeed.

Their Defense is slow. Slowest LB's and Safeties in the league. The DL can't rush the QB and Henry looks like he is hurting and is not the fastest CB in the league to begin with. On offense you have two aging WR's and no quality replacements in sight. The RB's have liabilities when on the field and the TE's don't scare anyone. The OL is mediocre at best but could improve dramatically with a year of working together.

IMO Dallas can't keep getting cute during the draft. Draft the best available and quit passing up dynamic players like Jackson, Maroney, Merriman etc.... Players like that make the difference between good and great teams.

It's really just two players that lack speed -- James and Henry. Ware is fast, we know that. Ayodele seems to have the right speed for his position. Carpenter and Singleton are plenty fast. With Ellis back next year, Singleton will be his primary backup and Carpenter will move back to ILB and will hopefully unseat James as the starter. We definitely need to draft a CB high. Either first or second pick. If the youngster looks fit to handle the position his rookie season then we can attempt to move Henry to FS.

So much for being patient waiting for draft picks to develop and sign them to a long extension. Maybe the initial reaction was dead on on James- Bust. Maybe you don't need 3 years to determine if a guy is going to be a player or not.

I hate how we just signed James to an extension.

The guy is a waste.

The more and more I think about the contract given to James the3 more pissed off I get. If "drops" is a stat for TO then "whiffs" should be a stat for Bradie James.

I don't see BSPN following the whiffs category with any haste though.

I wouldn't count on Ellis being back.......ever.

I agree I will be shocked if he is the same type of player. I think a more likely scenario is he gain some weight and try to finish out as a 4-3 DT. He is going to lose the little explosion that he had.

i don't know about all that. i think our rb's are fine if the oline could block anyone and just who are all these t.e.'s better than witten?

Who on the defense is considered fast for their position besides Newman and Ware? Safeties are repeatedly burned particularly by faster players. The LB's can't cover the faster backs of the league. Henry, I am guessing, is a 4.6 cb who makes up for that to some extent with his size. The DL while good at stopping the run most of the time cannot generate a pass rush. Ellis, if back certainly was slow for a LB to begin with and won't be faster after his achilles injury.

On offense the OL is mediocre, we have aging WR's and one in particular who can't catch. Witten, while a top 10 TE doesn't scare defenses, Barber is sloooow, Jones is a liability on passing downs because he can't block and isn't particularly good out of the backfield. Jury is still out on Romo, but you would assume he will be better next year with more experience.

Dallas is big, but the lack of speed exposes the defense to teams like Philadelphia and New Orleans that have speedy backs and lots of WR's running around.

we have speed...didnt you read anything about any of these guys workouts? They play slow because of the style of defense we implement.

we dont have any problem at RB...we have OL issues...how has passing on Jackson and Maroney effected the W/L record? Merriman wouldnt have half the production he has in SD if we had drafted him, because we have clowns running our defense...the systems are NOT the same...

some people absolutely cant see the forest for the trees

How did we pass on Moroney? He was picked before we could get him if I remember correctly.
