When you have to have the best players just to make your offense and defense work and just to make the playoffs, you end up having to pay those players according to their market value.

It's not sustainable and the Jones family is now finding out what happens when you invite coaching.

Are they the best players though? I don't know any media type that would put Dak or Amari in their top 15 at their position. It's rare they are in the top 20. I happen to think Amari's really good but opinions vary, apparently.

Zeke on the other hand most people would have at least in the top 5.

But in general I also hear a lot of criticisms about the offensive scheme, at least in the past. The players are asked to out physical the other guy, instead of the scheme getting them mismatches. Hopefully that's something Moore can bring to the table.

I understand what you’re saying. And I am not a big fan of Garret at all.

I do think, either way you need to have one of the more talented rosters to win.

Even the patriots. Yes Bill Belichek is the best HC ever. But their rosters are always very talented as well. Maybe not the most talented in the league, but consistently top 5. This goes back to their scouting and player acquisition as well. The patriots don’t overpay players. But they are adept at finding talented players who fit their system and can do the jobs asked of them at a high level.

The eagles in 2017. Also had a LOADED roster. Full of top notch talent.

So I think just about every HC needs top end talent to win a championship.

But you’re right. Discrepancies in coaching does make a difference, especially when talent levels of rosters are so close at the top of the league. Rarely in the playoffs are you significantly more talented than the opposition. Usually the difference in talent is small

The premise that the Cowboys roster is superior and the only thing holding it back is "coaching" is rarely expressed outside of the Cowboys fan base.

Lots of teams have multiple stars. Some pay them, some trade them and get younger. None of them manage to keep everybody.
