Nelson Mandela dead at age 95

what is really sad is that it is more and more likely that South Africa will now descend into civil war. Only this time it will be black on black. Those that followed him as President were neither honorable nor honest. ANC is trying for a complete power grab and overturn the constitution; and make SA just like virtually every other country in Africa.

Someone wrote that he is the world's last great statesmen. Not sure I agree but for him to be able to forgive those that did what they did to him makes him better than 99.9% of the world's population.

Like the Inkatha who were in bed with the apartheid government (google "Inkathagate" and "Buthelezi") are any better.

Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones recalls day Nelson Mandela watched a game with him at Texas Stadium

On the morning of the Cowboys’ Oct. 24, 1999 home game against the Washington Commanders, Jones received a phone call from his good friend, Saudi Prince Bandar bin Sultan, Saudi Arabia’s ambassador to the United States from 1983 to 2005. Jones said that Prince Bandar bin Sultan said he wanted to bring a guest to the game.

“He didn’t tell me who and then he came in and it was Mandela,” Jones said, recalling that day in his Texas Stadium owners’ suite. “He sat there in our suite and watched the entire game, but he couldn’t quit exchanging and having real involvement with all the young children. He enjoyed those children.”

The world is not better without this man.

Did not agree with some of the things he believed but I believe that he was a good man, to the core.

RIP Nelson Rolihlahla "Madiba" Mandela

Nelson Mandela, Malcolm X, Martin Luther King, Rosa Parks, all different personalities but all had same goal, equality.

Nelson Mandela probably didn't recognize Jerry post plastic surgery...

Great interview on "Mike & Mike" this morning with Gary Player telling some great stories regarding Mr Mandela over the years.
RIP

Read a lot about Mandela's time in prison. When he was organizing the ANC people inside the jail, he told them that if they could get the guards there to respect them as men, they could get anyone to do it. Mandela ended up being the guest of the warden at the warden's house on all the South African holidays.

Mandela had the courage of his convictions. Great man, and a sad loss.
