Well one thing is for sure, DVD by mail will eventually be taken away, as broadband saturation is so high now there is almost no point in offering the service other than to not stiff their current customers and maybe also because the full catalog isn't available on streaming but that will happen at some point.
There are multiple quality options over streaming for various connection speeds, too. I think one issue would be customers battling with their ISP bandwidth caps, but fortunately not all ISPs have these or enforce them unless they are way overboard.
I can foresee a situation where they may offer streaming online and allow the purchase of DVD and Blu-Ray over their website at huge discounted rates for their current customers until they have sold off all of their stock. Either that or they will simply stick to a model where they only offer the physical copies for purchase and not rental.
