I got into the song "Chips Ahoy" a while back. How similar is their other stuff to this this?

that one is great but a bit more "radio friendly" than most of their stuff (not so much sound-wise but lyrically)

some other great songs to get started with are Sequestered in Memphis, Stuck Between Stations, Constructive Summer, and my personal favorite, Your Little Hoodrat Friend

I was in Athens during the heyday of OTC - NMH - Elf Power, saw a lot of their shows. Good stuff. Mangum is a little strange, but eh.

We might as well hijack this thread and turn it into an indie rock-pop thread!

My favorite band is from Dallas! All bow before the Old 97's!

The alternative radio station I listen to plays Sequestered in Memphis and I like that song as well.

B. Switch from a cigar to wacky tabacky
The singer's voice annoys me. I actually like the music and melody, but I don't think any substance could get me past his voice.

If you were ever sequestered in Memphis you'd have a different opinion of the song. :laugh1:

Sounds like you've got a decent station - I've all but given up on most radio - some of the NPR stations have great alternative programming but that is mostly small and independent.

BTW your sig cracks me up every time. About 15 years ago I was at a bar on a Tuesday night (yes, Tuesday) at about 11 three guys walk in and one is really really drunk. But this wasn't exactly the kind of bar where they refuse to serve you b/c you are trashed. His friends are just trying to get him to sit still and that is going fine until "Hard to Handle" comes on the jukebox and he starts shouting "Black Crowes, Black Crowes, Black Crowes" over and over. He gets up and starts dancing, shouting the whole time. Finally, he trips, lands on a table and falls into a booth. As he's lying down, he keeps shouting "Black Crowes" until the song is over.
