I dont know where to rank it but here is one reason I believe.

- You cannot have Romo just dropping back in the pocket. Defenses put the target on him and then its GAME OVER. Ask Strahan.

what else you got?

Felix was moving the ball, but we'd take him out, and the drive would fizzle.

This is a good one. It must drive the energy out of the team to see this occur.

1st - Kick the FG on 4th and 1. It shows the O they can't do it, you don't trust them.

We were plenty in the game early. We were winning the field position battle but couldn't make field goals or finish drives. We had the time of possession at 8 mins to 1 at one point.

Once we got behind though it was all over because the OL couldn't block a lick on any passing play. And like any QB once Romo was hit enough he stopped looking to anyone but Witten.

Would have loved to see a couple of those same jump balls to Austin that Favre got to Rice but Favre wasn't getting hit in the mouth every play.

perhaps that we have been about the worst 4th and 1 in football the last half of this season.

we make that field goal and it changes a lot about the game's pace and style.

suisham barely missed both kicks. it's not like they were impossible.

Yet Wade claimed at half time that he was....

We could not run the ball. The draw play well defended and we had no answer. That left us in similar position as previous seasons-- relying on Romo to fling it under pressure. Now I not bashing Romo. I use to though. I wish that had shown a little more poise. Maybe you live and learn. I remember Aikman without a running game or a compliment to his #1 looking like a mere mortal.

If I didn't feel that I could make a first down I would have punted the ball before trusting a shaky kicker.I would have thrown a jump ball and hoped for a PI penalty before trusting that kicker. In my opinion going for the field goal is playing to lose in that situation.

Ray Edwards dominated MC. I was hoping someone would start chipping him, or putting Free at RT for a change of pace, then Flo went down. Game over. The very next play, Allen had a tackle for loss. Then the sack fumble, constant pressure, etc, etc.

Hey JT...how goes?

I don't agree.

If this was a game that was going to be low scoring, maybe ya go for the FG in that spot.

That wasn't the case...

One thing I've learned about the playoffs...when you kick a FG, you don't score 3, you lose 4. And often times, it comes back to bite ya in the butt.

The Vikings weren't stopping ANYTHING against the Cowboy offense and the Cowboys had already converted a 3rd and 1.

48 yards, from Suisham...in a playoff game...was a stretch.

I just think ya gotta go for the kill every opportunity.

Rex blow hard Ryan just did it with the Jets.

I'm sitting here, in NY, shaking my head over the fact that the Jets are going further in the playoffs than the Cowboys.

I agree. I was hoping to see Free also. (I got my wish...just not the way I wanted)

Colombo is good against power DE's. Edwards is fast. It was clear that Colombo was overmatched.

Craig

the smart football play is to kick the field goal. our defense has been playiong great for weeks.

shuisam had missed what 1 kick all year between 40 and 50?

48 yards in a dome is not a long shot.

we simply have to upgrade at kicker. if the kicker is so poor you can't play smart football that that is a real issue.

look... after we lose by 30 of course we should have went for every time. my biggest issue was not going for it on 4th down with 11 minutes left. Yea, it was a long shot but at that point punting was pointless. we were down big and we needed miracles to happen to our comatose offense.

We were out-talented and thus, never in the game.

I had hope in the beginning...but the more we moved the ball and didn't score, the more that hope vanished.

Ya watch football for a long time and ya just know, when a team doesn't score after moving the ball up and down the field, it always turns out badly.

JT...it was a bad decision.

Here's Jerry's post game comment..

“Before the game, we weren’t confident with anything over 44-45 yards,” Jones said of Suisham’s practice kicks. “So we had him try a few beyond that — 46 to 50 yards — and that was dicey.”

While this is accurate and a very good post it is not that cut and dry.

We werent finishing things. So TOP and firld position didnt mean anything.... and then.... we fell behind.

Rex and the Jets go further with 1st year HC and QB and the Cowboys with Wade and offense in place for a few years are toast.

Dam!
