Jerry will make a play for BB and maybe surrender some control, the catch. BB wants the all time wins record and Jerry needs something to market while the team is being rebuilt. BB is an outstanding defensive coach and would be an asset to the side and would hopefully take some of the country club out of the locker room. My preference would be for vrabl same attitudes without all the sideshow of BB.

This, it wasn’t fun for Jed but we loved that era, less him being seen.
Yes, but the point is: Why would BB even want to come here knowing how Jerry meddles AND what incentive would Jerry have to 1) hire him and 2) give him enough control to change the culture?

IF he hires BB and BB comes here, We'd see the same thing we keep seeing because Jerry will not allow the culture change.

It would last about as long as when Jerry hired Dan Reeves as a "consultant".
Speaking of consultants......isn't Jimmy Johnson a team consultant to Jerry? Maybe it's his consulting that got us into this mess....

If he does come here, I hope they do not give him control over the draft

People complain about McClay and the draft even though they are one of the best drafting teams in the NFL/

Go back and look at a good portion of the Patriots draft picks under Bill. It is shocking how bad they were drafting players

Give us Ben Johnson. Lets have something to be excited about. We don't have Tom Brady to carry a bad OC like McDaniels to a top offense.

Unless Brady lures him to the Raiders.
I could definitely see another team beating Jerry to the punch knowing how desperate he'll be to make a splash at HC.

Why would Jerry let him come here if he wants some level of control? Jerry's not trying to build a stadium so why would he be "uncomfortable" ceding anything to BB? He flat out stated that the Parcells years weren't as fun for him. BB would produce the same thing for him.
I would give him the control he wants on the field. I wouldn’t give him control on the draft. I’d give him input but not control because he didn’t do that great in NE with draft. He did a nice job in FA. What he brings is some much needed discipline and accountability if you allow him. He wouldn’t be my first choice but he is much better choice than most Jerry choices

Really hard to see that happening. It doesn't excite the fan base one percent.
Nor mine. But there seems to be even on this board a growing crowd leaning that way. And I feel it’s more just name recognition

While I agree with you, you're not Jerry. We'd see discipline erode quickly if it got better at all because Jerry allows players to bypass coaches and go straight to him.

Jerry is the problem. But of all the HC options out there bill is probably the best suited to deal with Jerry. They know each other well and Jerry respects him. Jerry gonna be Jerry buy parcells was able to navigate Jerry and made the playoffs with QC at QB.

The greatest coach of this generation has more pedigree than Jerry. I’m pretty sure he won’t take it laying down. And more football guys will side with Belicheck over Jerry including Goodell

He mentioned it off the cuff in the past. I can't currently find it, but I'm sure an in depth search will find it. It was discussed a LOT on the old official forum.

What would Bill do? Quit? Jerry is the boss in this instance. It's literally his way or the highway.

It would last about as long as when Jerry hired Dan Reeves as a "consultant".
This from an article.

“Veteran NFL coach Dan Reeves told ESPN on Wednesday that he believed he had successfully negotiated a multiyear contract with Cowboys owner Jerry Jones that would have created a senior management position in Dallas. But the partnership dissolved when Reeves became uncomfortable with changes Jones insisted upon after Reeves rejected a job title that would have included him as a member of Wade Phillips' coaching staff. Reeves preferred an executive title with broader authority.”
