American Horror Story Freak Show starts tonight on FX.

Good thing is even if you have not watched the previous four seasons, you can start watching on now and be OK. They continue to use a good deal of the same cast in different seasons, but they play different characters with a different story each season.

Usually pretty creepy in different ways. This season they are in a circus side/freak show setting.

Liked all seasons but two was good if they would have left off the aliens bit. Think they tried to put an extra subplot it did not need. But besides that I still liked it. That was my first season so I went back and watched season one and then last year.

Did you watch The Flash? I'm kind of 50/50 on it right now.

Rats I missed the premiere. I'll have to try to dig it up. Loved the season last year mostly because of (1) Stevie Nicks and (2) the chick that looked like Stevie, idolized Stevie, always listened to Stevie's music... oh hey I'm seeing Fleetwood Mac real soon at Verizon Center that reminds me :)

I set it to record but for some reason that channel (CW) on my cable network was froze to a single image until sometime after 11 pm est.
So when I switched over to watch the show at 9 (after it had recorded so I can skip ads) it was the same frozen image for a full hour.

Oh well...Hopefully they will re air it and I can give it a shot.

Yes she is on this one...actually it looks like there is a female and a male that looks the same.

There is a youtube video of the lady who plays pepper. Pretty crazy all the make-up, etc. that goes into it.

The audio engineering of this new show is HORRIBLE. Have to crank up to pretty much max volume just to be able to decipher what is being said, because it's drowned out by the constant music all through the show. Frigging ridiculous. HORRIBLE audio engineering. I'm missing so much of the dialogue! Probably can't continue to watch this new series. Dang it.

I do recognize about six of the returning cast members. Have a nice season ya'll. Don't think I'll be able to stay with you because of the piss poor audio.

Sigh.

Yeah, the audio sucks, but I like the show.

Interesting. I was kinda bored in Season 1. But then I fell in love with the series in Season 2. It took me a while to get into Season 3 but I enjoyed it. This season got off to a strong start and I have a feeling it might become my favorite.

I listened to the episode with headphones on my laptop since I missed the premiere and no longer have a TV of my own. So I thought the audio was great. I wonder how I would have enjoyed it if I watched it on a TV though.

So I'll give my review of the episode since I just watched it. You can stop reading now if you don't want any spoilers:

First of all, this show is a complete treat. These are some of the greatest actors on the planet putting up an Oscar-worthy performance every week. Very rare to get from a TV show. Like in every season, Jessica Lange is the star, and I think she'll have even more of a prominent role in this season. The Russian accent is taking time to get used to, but she's great. I liked her the best as the Boston nun in Season 2. The final scene was interesting when she took her legs off. I have a feeling nobody knows about her deformity. I think they all view her as that "normal" savior who came in and gave them all hope. I have a feeling she relates to them because of her deformity but tries to maintain this image that she isn't one of them. We'll see.

I love Kathy Bates' Philly accent. She's such a great actress. I'm glad she joined the show last season. I see Angela Basset will be on the show. I'm looking forward to seeing what role she'll be playing. I'm interested to see what role Frances Conroy will play. Her and her son were the only people who came to the premiere show, and then they attempted to buy the headline act. I have a feeling she's running some rival freak show and later episodes will play into this story line.

I like John Carroll Lynch as the serial killer clown. I'm not really sure what he's doing in this show so far. He walked in on all the freaks chopping up that detective. It seemed like he was impressed. But we'll see. I'm not sure if he'll end up joining the freaks or play a villain role or what. But his whole look and demeanor is awesome. I love that twisted smile (and his name is Twisty the Clown).

It's great to see Evan Peters playing a big role again. He's been one of my favorite in this entire series and I was disappointed to see him reduced to a mute zombie in the last season. I was also impressed with what they did with Sarah Paulson as the two headed sisters. I liked how they would zone in on one of them and get their perspective and thoughts. She's an impressive actress. I've never seen someone play two roles at once with completely different personalities (the naive sister and the stubborn one).

Overall, I completely loved the premiere of this season. I've watched the show from the start. I wasn't completely sold on Season 1. A lot of people got into the show during Season 2 and went back to Season 1 and liked that even more. That wasn't the case with me. I heard about the show and was looking forward to Season 1. It had its ups and downs and I wasn't sure if I'd continue watching the series. I decided to give the premiere of Season 2 a chance to see if I'd give up on the show, and I loved it so much that I've been hooked ever since. Season 3 I felt was rocky and I wasn't into the premiere, but then I started to enjoy it. But this season seems great. I have a feeling this one will be my favorite.

So I hear that some real life clowns are going after this show somehow? I can't imagine why.
