New coaching staff, new mentality and new culture

Most people seem to be basing their opinions on the 2025 season outcome on the fact that the previous years coaching staff is the same coaching staff currently on deck. They either discount that fact or just chose to be ignore it to further their agenda. Well, that’s a mistake. There’s a thread out there about how much the defense is going to suck. How could anyone know that? They couldn’t. New coaching staff, new mentality and new culture. There’s threads out there about how the offense is going to suck because of no WR#2 and they didn’t draft a RB until the 5th round. How could they know? They couldn’t. New coaching staff, new mentality and new culture.

This is an exciting time in the NFL with new players from free agency, trades and the draft as well as new coaches all around. If you can’t get excited now about this years Cowboys then maybe you should find another type of entertainment. Because that’s all it is folks. Entertainment. No reason to become a Debbie Downer over everything like most of the posters are. It’s an exciting time and I can’t wait to see what’s in store for 2025.
I'm not entertained and you're not helping.

Oh you’re entertained or you wouldn’t be watching the games. Or maybe you’re one of the many who SAY they watch the games yet are constantly posting negative thoughts during the game threads.

You’ll probably mope around the rest of your life
We fans need to allow ourselves to enjoy things when the team does something good. The constant negativity is a fools errand and is counterproductive. I like what we have done so far. The past is the past. We can't change that. Onward we go.

sorry Rock, all I see is Garrett 2.0....

You are at that list top as you show up continually. Why? The Cowboys are still competitive...now show anything a description of more than an unchanged insult. Before injuries, the present team has valid potential with talent proven on the carpet. Time on the clock.
yeah keep drinking that jethro kool aid

You also didn’t consider for a second that the season doesn’t start until Sept and that they could add talent before then.
I did consider, the top talent is already gone.

Only thing left is, older broken down vets, low floor unproven players with potential, and head ache players that want a massive extensions.

1 impact player doesn't always get you there.
Adding many solid players works better. Build a sold foundation. That holds up much better than one strong player and the rest weaker.

Consider it like building a dam. All parts must work together to be strong. Then you can get players to emerge to be an impact.
I think that is called team building 101.
Great, then why didn't they go out and get 3 legit FA's?

Nice post. Personally, I fall into the "Debbie Downer" category. Three decades of following the Jerry JonesBoys has me very cynical. Fool me once, shame on you, fool me twenty-nine times.....
I believe that Shotty wants to change the culture, but fear he'll be undercut by Jed and Jethro above him
But here's wishing that you're right and I'm wrong.
I think I repeat think we may have hope because of one simple fact and that is jerry did not implant any coaches on shotty staff he let him choose who he wanted to work with.

It's a good post and a good point, but there's one caveat to that I'd like to say. We don't know if it's a new culture. They say it is, but do we know for sure? After all, Jerry is still in control and doing the same things he's done every year. Where will training camp be? does he still have the open door policy that allows players to bypass the coaches? Will it still be a country club attitude engendered by Jerry? We just don't know. So there's no definitively saying "new culture." They just say it is. The proof is in the pudding though. We will see. As fans we should give the benefit of the doubt, but I don't blame some fans that won't. 30 years of the same thing will do that.

Then how did he lead a team to 12 wins for 3 straight seasons. After starting with 13 straight wins his rookie season season in 2016. You sound anything but full of bluf.

"I'm here to win," Akingbesote said. "I want to win a Super Bowl. I'm here to win and get the team better. I want to win a Super Bowl. That's what is on my mind."

That is definitely one Turtle who isn't interested in taking things slow.

The onus is now on one of the more heralded defensive line coaches in the NFL, Aaron Whitecotton, to refine, improve and unlock what's inside of Toia and Akingbesote to make them impact contributors for an interior rotation that will also see former seventh-round pick Justin Rogers scratching and clawing for reps against Toia, Akingbesote and others, namely Earnest Brown IV and Denzel Daxon (International Pathway Program).

Time to start watching and comparing facts as they develop. Not stereotyped prejudice. Either learn how to support team or at least don't insult for one's own prejudice. You know, honesty and ethics.

I'm watching...for sure.

This make any sense?

CBS Sports' Cody Benjamin suggested former Philadelphia Eagles Pro Bowler Carson Wentz as a potential option.

"Carson Wentz to the Cowboys," Benjamin said. "Dallas dealt a pick to the New England Patriots for Joe Milton III, an intriguing young arm to develop behind Dak Prescott. You've gotta think they'd like a bit more experience in the room, considering Prescott's missed extensive time in three of his last five seasons. And Wentz, their old NFC East rival, has drawn solid reviews as a big-armed backup for a couple of contenders in recent years."

Didn’t Wentz announce he’s retired from the NFL? Last I heard he is the Quarterbacks Coach at North Dakota State.
