I liked the throwback white helmet.

But since the NFL's impending concussion lawsuits makes that just a fleeting memory, I have to deal with it.

As far as I know it has nothing to do with charity.

It has to do with the idea of selling more apparel.

Not the helmet thing. They don't want to get sued.

Fans don't buy helmets nearly as much as jerseys, so there is the trade off.

I think the rule was made as they didn't want players to have to wear a new, non broken in helmet one week of the year which could lead to higher chance of concussions. Which is why we couldn't wear the plain white with blue star anymore.

No, but there is a Cooper Rush helmet that seems to be growing in popularity. It's just like the other Cowboys' helmets except it has apparently the greatest UDFA of all time in it.
