Did anyone else read the actual article(that started the talk on Sirius and the net)? From what I can gather the author was just bringing up that the only other interest was from New England, it sounded like the author was just rehashing old news from weeks ago about their mild interest but never offering anything for him. Still sounds like its status quo and that Dallas is still the only bidder.

Despite Jerry Jones comment, Pacman trade still possible
By Terry McCormick, tmccormick@nashvillecitypaper.com

The one-year anniversary of the suspension of Adam “Pacman” Jones arrived Thursday with Cowboys owner Jerry Jones telling a Texas newspaper that he doesn’t have a feel for whether or not a trade between his club and the Tennessee Titans will get done.

A league source, however, indicated the trade talks are not dead. The fact that both clubs are preparing for the April 26-27 draft may have slowed down the talks a bit.

The Titans and Cowboys appeared close to consummating a trade for Jones just before the NFL owners meeting last week, but could not reach an agreement on compensation or money issues between the Titans and Pacman Jones.

“I think the longer that it goes, the less likely [it will be done],” Jerry Jones told the Fort Worth Star-Telegram. “It’s just me trying to be realistic about it. I don’t have a feel for it right now.”

Jones’ agent and attorney Manny Arora is still hopeful that some sort of deal will come to fruition soon, perhaps by the NFL Draft.

The Titans had wanted two picks from the Cowboys in exchange for the sixth pick in the 2005 draft, and the matter of the Titans trying to recoup bonus money from the cornerback versus unpaid money owed to him by the team had also caused the potential trade to snag.

“I was hoping that the two clubs would be able to reach an agreement at the owners meetings,” Arora said. “When they were not able to, it was disappointing.”

The Cowboys have been Pacman Jones’ only open pursuer regarding a trade, though other clubs have contacted the Titans about his availability behind the scenes. The New England Patriots are one of those clubs to show potential interest, though they have not entered into any negotiations.

As for Jones’ reinstatement, the anniversary day came Thursday with no appeal to Commissioner Roger Goodell yet. That is likely to happen next week.

Goodell told Jones in February and reiterated at the owners meetings that he would review Jones’ situation before the opening of training camps in July. He also said at the owners meetings that any club trading for Jones would not affect a decision on when he would be reinstated.

Arora, however, would like for Jones to be reinstated by the draft in order to enhance his trade value and help him find a role on a roster before teams fill needs with draft choices.

Also, Arora has indicated he is willing to rework Jones’ contract into an incentive-laden deal to ease any cap hit on the Titans and lessen the risk for the team that trades for him.

I just heard on Sirius NFL radio that New England has started to talk about Pacman with the Titans angain. There was no other info. Sorry I don't have a link.

Good, let them fork over a couple of 3s or 4s plus cash.

I was all for Pac for a 7 or 6, I was even willing to go a 5th. However, once the Titans decided they needed a 3rd or a 4th and cash to go along with it, I was done.

I really dont think the Titans are that interested in trading Pac, seems they are too busy playing games and thinking they actually matter.

If I was Jerry, I would just walk away and let the Titans know not to call us in the future for a dam thing. Noway I do business with those turds in the future.
