New HC needed. New O-line needed.

The penalties on the Cowboys are a reflection of our head coach. We're just not a smart football team. Wade says we usually practice well, but it never translates over to the game on Sunday. I don't get it.

I watch team after team execute a simple run play. I watch them execute through the air when they need a first down. When I watch the Cowboys, I watch our O-line consistently get blown off the ball. I don't see anyone getting to the second level on running plays because their too busy whiffing against their man, or falling down, or getting called for a false start, or holding. It has been every game thus far.

Today you could see Felix shaking his head while walking back to the sidelines after getting blown up at the LOS. How many times did we see a jailbreak on Tony Romo, who was forced to check down to Felix or Marion? Romo had very little time to look for his WR's down the field. We rarely go north with the ball anymore, whether it's running, or passing. Exactly how many check downs to the RB or make shift screen plays did we run today?

And another thing that is beginning to rear it's ugly head. Turnover Tony looks to be back in full form. I can't figure this guy out either. One play he looks like he could take on the world. The next play he's making a boneheaded throw. I know he's a good football player. But is he championship caliber? Will he ever be able to lead the Cowboys to a championship? I'm beginning to wonder as the seasons go by.

So are the Cowboys equipped to handle this kind of buried? I mean we're buried. 1-4 starting out is better than ending a season 1-4. But I can't see this team regrouping and responding. Not from what I see week in and week out.

Whatever is said by the media this week is deserved. They brought this upon themselves. Up next, the Giants on Monday night. Good luck O-line. Good luck Tony. Good luck Felix and Marion. You're gonna need it.

I think people would be shocked by how great this team is if we had a new oline and competent coaching staff.

We need a new right side of our o-line. Davis and Colombo are well done.

Funny, Oline was our biggest weakness coming into this season and we all knew it....

And yet....

Our o-line has aged quickly, but this has been what's most concerning to me. Free has probably been our most consistent lineman, yet he's been a penalty machine hasn't he? Seems like he's averaging somewhere in the neighborhood of two flags a game, in addition to a range of missed assignments.

Our inability to control the line dictated today's game plan. Instead of airing it out against a horrible, injury plagued secondary, we were forced to primarily throw to Felix in the flat.

Kozier's a good player, but injury prone. Free and Gurode worth keeping. But I think we need a few new guys there

What plagues this team has plagued other teams that Wade has led in the past, which makes me believe that there is something wrong with how Wade structures his teams weekly regiment.

Talent-wise, this team could rip off 11 wins...

In reality, we have a coach that offers excuses...

You could see in Wade's PC he KNEW he was gonna get the crap kicked out of him...

I'm believe this now too...These same old problems persist and the common denominator is Wade. Someone posted a quote a few days ago, pointing out that Wade at all of his coaching stops was known for inattention to detail. I believe this is his fundamental flaw that is the cause of most of the teams problems.

We do?

I think we have some nice individual talent but "teams" win games in the NFL and I think our "team" is very average.

For the first time this year. I'm going to have to agree with such a statement. Right now, we are average.

Kind of a catch-22 here.

This team goes on a tear...Jerry will bring him back.

But who wants to root for their favorite team to lose? I won't.

Yeah, and they adjusted to it in the second half.

They were all over the check down in the second half.

Maybe the team should have refs at each practice calling penalties as if it was a live game. I'm sure that they have done that in the past but seriously, what's going to resolve their penalty issues.

Read the articles that I posted in that thread, there are some things said that make you scratch your head about Wade.

we are technically below average. we have as many wins as the lions do, and they at least play with heart and desire.

When you look towards next year, I think the core is really strong at the skill positions. Some coaching staff is going to be really happy with those skill guys on both sides of the ball.

Newman
Jenkins
Ware
Spencer
Ratliff
Romo
Felix
Austin
Witten
Bryant
Williams
James
McBriar

Doug Free

However, after those 14 players, you have big time issues on the offensive line, S, ILB, and special teams. DE is lurking...

Three of the DEs are free agents. Olshanksy isn't getting any younger, and Spears is better.

Both Safeties are free agents. Sensabaugh is just a nice player, not a guy you give the big contract...

This offensive line needs to go. (LG, C, RG, RT)

Gurode is the most likely one to stay due to economics and LG, RG, and RT needing to be replaced now.

RG and RT are as good as gone, imso.

Kosier is a free agent, and I would let him walk.

They were able to block this front in 2007, but they have not been able to block them in the last two meetings.

Start hitting the players in the wallet and give the money to St. Jude's. When a player makes a penalty, start taking their money. $500 per flag.

Cowboys need a FS and a kicker to go along with the new HC and O-line.
