Hi everyone. Our family is relocating from the Cleveland OH area to Ft. Worth/Arlington due to job relocation. We have 2 boys who will be entering 6th grade, one of them has autism. Interested in any information you can give me about school districts, buying a home, any info. you can provide would be much appreciated.

Haven't followed the Cowboys much, but I'm sure we will follow them more since we are moving here. My husband follows the Browns, I'm a Steelers fan, one of my sons follows the Patriots.

Thanks a lot - look forward to participating here and learning more about the Cowboys as well!

:welcome: to the CowboysZone!!!!!!!!!!!!

I lived in Dayton in the late 90's. So glad I moved!

Two pieces of advice.

1) Try to stay on the north sides of Dallas or Fort Worth, whichever you choose. Personally, I prefer Ft. Worth, so the Keller/Southlake/Grapevine area.

2) Pick a new team to root for. :D

Just a personal preference. And it just seems to me that there's more room to grow on the north side.

Actually, the southwest side of Ft. Worth is growing alot as well as Mansfield and Arlington.

But I understand having a personal preference which is why I prefer Houston. Lol.

And I prefer Austin.;)

Mansfield is one of the areas we are looking at. Seems like a good place with decent schools, or am I missing something here...

Welcome to the great state of Texas I hope you and your family enjoy living here. Your husband pulling for the Browns would be alright but you pulling for the Steelers has to change. :laugh2:

Hopefully members here in the Ft. Worth/Arlington area can help you out. Myself I live in Houston so all I can do is just welcome you to our great state.

A Steelers fan in Cowboys territory should be interesting...however I guess if you can have a marriage where one spouse is a steelers fan and the other a browns fan than you can make it out ok. :D

the guy around the corner from me has his garage painted two tone in the steelers gold and black. He has a big steelers license plate on the wall outside of his garage.

three houses over from me the family is from pittsburgh and they are also steelers fans.

There are so many people who live here who are from somewhere else that root for other teams, Its not funny.

You will love mansfield, and the schools are great.

Its quiet and small. Its like living in a small city but you go 10 minutes north, west or east and you have everything you want.

Mansfield has two new high schools, a waterpark, the field of dreams complex, a new hospital, affordable homes, nice clean parks and everything under the sun as far as retail goes....and of course, the ballpark and cowboys stadium are just minutes away depending on where you are...you dont even need to get a highway to get there.

Its a great place. The only thing you will dislike coming from the northeast is the lack of trees or the small trees in all the neigborhoods. South and north arlington have older neighborhoods with mature trees that are very nice.

Well I live about the same distance from Pittsburgh, Cleveland and Cincy...so we have a good deal of Steelers and Browns fans in my area but the funniest thing I seen was some guy had one of those old Chrysler that were similar to the el caminos and k cars but it was paint green with the big Yellow Greenbay G on the hood.

lol. That packers green is ugly! That must be pretty funny.

at nearly every cowboys game I always see a group of *******es wearing their football jerseys....like a guy with a colts jersey, another guy with a rams jersey etc.....

I never understand that, its like I am going to a football game better way my football attire....even though that team isnt playing!!!

the steelers guy was barking something at me last year....I have a cowboys flag up on my house, at least when the wind is not destroying it, last year I was outside when he walked by and he was laughing and saying something....I just shrugged my shoulders.......I was going to return the favor this past year. the week the browns beat the steelers I saw him outside in his garage when I was walking the dog but I decided not to say anything!!!

Just don't move to Irving unless you live NORTH of 635. This place is becoming ghetto-fabulous. South Irving especially, but I was born and raised here.

*There's nothing I can say about you being a Steelers fan that hasn't already been said, so I'll leave it at that.

oh....and be prepared to SWEAT this summer.
