Ya know, for being in the desert it sure does rain a whole bunch this time of the year....If you didnt know by now, Clovis, NM is about the worst location foran Air Force base around today...I'd rather be at Bagram...(rant over)

Born and bred Albuquerque native here.

I love this freakin' state!

Clovis is rough though. I take it you're stationed there? Where are you originally from?

Anyway, my state has epic history. Aliens. Nucleur Bombs. Gene Hackman.

I can go on and on...

Ya I've been to Kirtland several times on TDY's or vacation and I really enjoy it there....up on top of the mountain (the name escapes me) looking down on ABQ is an awesome view....only problem is it is 3 hours away from me and I cant afford to go up there every weekend:( I really do enjoy the good parts of the state that Ive been to such as ABQ, Carlsbad and to an extent Roswell that onlt problem is everything is so far away...btw Im originally from Oklahoma City

Sandia Mountains.

I spent most of my life in the Albuquerque area. I hated it when I was there. I just wanted away from the whole area.

I've been gone from there for over 15 years now, and I really miss it. It was a great place to live, I was just too ignorant and young to appreciate it.

To appreciate or like Clovis or eastern New Mexico, you have to be from there, IMO.

If you're a young guy looking for things to do, you're in a rough spot.

And Clovis really isn't in the desert.

Ya I know its not really in the desert but the whole dry climate and the lack of plantation kind of makes it like the desert...anyways Im 22 and looking for stuff to do, not to mention my wife hates the place

Greetings Chief. How are things today?

I live in Albuquerque myself. I like it here. I love it up North near Colorado. If you hunt or fish, that's a great area. Hang in there Whisky Cowboy. You can always catch, 84 I think it is, to Lubbock. Lubbock isn't exactly the garden of the world but it's a bit bigger then Clovis. Santa Rosa is not to bad. It's nice if you like fishing or just to relax. Albuquerque is not all that far away. Take a drive if you have some extra time.

Its been a weird May for us here in NM, almost like monsoon season came early. It seems like it rained hard every day around Los Lunas and Belen but it was always pretty dry here at the Kirtland. Oh well we need the rain
