New mock with a déjà vu 1st round.
In 1991, The Cowboys drafted Alvin Harper, Tennessee WR, in the 1st to compliment Michael Irvin. So.....

1(18)- Cordarelle Patterson, WR Tennessee - Not a need, but a playmaker. I would rather have either of the Guards or 3 OTs, but it doesn't look that way. Patterson has dropped recently, so we take him at 18.

TRADE 2014 2nd, 3rd, and 7th to ? for early 2nd

2 - Terron Armstead, OT/ TE Arkansas Pine-Bluff- possibly upgrades 2 needs.

2 - D.J. Swearinger, S South Carolina- Free Safety need. Can also play slot.

3- Leveon Bell, RB Michigan State - Chuck Muncie?

4 - Devonte Holloman, S/LB South Carolina - we've got a bunch of 34 Linebackers posing as 43 Ends. Might as well get a Safety posing as a Linebacker to speed the defense.

5 - Earl Watford, OG James Madison - fast athletic Guard for Callahan's zone.

6 - Peter Lalich, QB Cal U of Penn - I like hearing a QB that has a great arm and great accuracy. I love a guy that's considered a savant at the position.

Trade ? To get 7th rounder.

7 - David King, DE/DT Oklahoma - a "tweener" for depth on the Dline.

Not in this lifetime. Also I really hope this report of trading future picks is false. They need to QB (Bridgewater) 1st round next year. It would be insanity to throw a guarenteed 40 mill next year at a 34 YO Romo IMO.

As for the trade I actually wouldn't mind trading those picks because we keep our 1st and will probably get some compensatory picks for guys like felix, jenkins, phillips, and victor butler

Patterson: NO. I don't like Patterson at all.. In a year with a few more playmaking receivers over 6'1 he would be a 2nd or 3rd rounder. He catches everything with his body.. Terrible hands. We wouldn't pick him even if he fell.. If he was to fall to us someone would probably give us a good deal to trade back so they could come up and get him

Armstead: Good pick.. Day one starter at RT and has tremendous upsdie

DJ Swearinger: Another great pick.. He is my 2nd favorite safety after Vaccaro.. Cyprien is up there too

Bell: Wayyy too early for this player.. If you want a RB here take Ellington.. Rather use this pick on a OG though maybe Pugh or Alvin Bailey

Holloman: I wouldn't really mind this pick.. Think he has some upside

Wartford: Like the value here but I think you are addressing the interior OL a little late.. Like the pick though.

Peter Lalich: Ok with this pick also.. Seems like he has a lot of upside. snag him in the 6th and see what he can do

King: We don't need "tweener"s in a 4-3. We have enough tweeners with Hatcher, Crawford, and others. Get a guy with serious athletic upside here like a Ray Ray Armstrong or someone.

Well, technically, you're swapping seconds so you're giving up a 3rd and a 7th

I don't like it either...but I'm not opposed to trading away future picks to move up.
