1.) Michael Brockers, DL, Louisiana State
IMO, the only thing he has in common with Marcus Spears and Tyson Jackson is they all went to LSU. Spears and Jackson lack the size needed to make up for their averge athleticism, while Brockers has the size to dominate. Both Spears and Jackson were 6'4 and had 33 or so inch arms, and Brockers 6'6 frame with 35 inch arms reminds me more of Richard Seymour. He didn't put up the athletic numbers that Seymour did, but that may have been due to him adding weight before the combine. All in all, I think Brockers has best player at his position potential and we we should take him if he's there.
2.) Kevin Zeitler, G, Wisconsin
If he's there at 45 and we don't draft DeCastro, he should be the pick (not expecting Fleener to be there). Day 1 starter at either guard spot, despite the money committed to Livings and Bernadeau.
3.) Michael Egnew, TE, Missouri
If we're lucky, Ladarius Green will be here, but I doubt it. Egnew has the size and speed to get deep and while he's not Fleener, he likely can contribute very early on and possibly replace Witten in 4 or so years.
4a.) Phillip Blake, C, Baylor
Would love it if he was still available here. Could possibly start day 1, depending on who he cometes with (Costa or Bernadeau).
4b.) Leonard Johnson, CB, Iowa State
We would likely need to get lucky for him to be here, but he's had an up and down work out season. Should be a solid #4 CB as well as special teams player early on.
5.) Ryan Broyles, WR, Oklahoma
probably a 2nd round player if not for the injury. Projects very well into a slot WR roll, can return kicks and punts. Not sure how much he can contribute next year, likr Bruce Carter will likely start off on PuP list.
6.) Nicholas Jean-Baptise, NT, Baylor
Solid NT prospect, should push Brent off roster
7.) Case Keenum, QB, Houston
may push Mcgee off roster
