Trade #27 for a high 2nd and a third.
2a) Nate Allen
2b) Vladimir Ducasse
3a) Jared Veldheer
3b) Danario Alexander
4) Akwasi Owusu-Ansah
6) John Estes
7) This is a tossup.
ILB is pretty weak this year, don't really like any of the prospects outside of Spikes/Mcclain. We could very well take Spikes with our first pick. I think we'll use this draft to groom our eventual starters on the o-line and add some more speed/playmaking ability to our secondary. Newman won't be a starter forever, Akwasi with a year or two in the system could give us a pair of pro bowl corners for years to come.
I think Ducasse could be capable of taking over for Kosier midseason at Guard, he likely won't but I see him as our future LG. Veldheer is tall, athletic, strong as an ox, with a long reach. If we're set on Free as our eventual LT, Veldheer would be a fantastic RT. John Estes will be a project but has all the tools to take over for Gurode.
Danario is a freak, he needs to clean up his routes but could very well be a #2 before long. Austin/Danario/Ogletree in the slot would be a matchup nightmare. And I like it.
