Oh if we have a shot at Laron Landry and pass I will be so sad.

A Dallas fan objects to the Brown pick:

I like Dallas drafting Brown. But I really don't agree with any of your descriptions. Marc Columbo has arguably been our best offensive lineman. He has not allowed a sack in 8 weeks...and has done well at getting to the second level when asked to run block. When him and Witten double down on an end...we seal the corner 99% of the time. I don't know if you haven't watch alot of Dallas football...but the only true spot on the OL that should be address would be RG. Rivera has constantly hampered our runing game by getting pushed into the backfield. He also has lost his pulling ability...and seems to whiff more than he should. If brown could play inside this pick would make a lot of sense. But I really would have to ask you what makes you think that Columbo needs to be upgraded.

To which Scott Wright replies:

Wow, I'd have to STRONGLY disagree with you on Colombo. I have not been impressed with him at all and I've had two pro scouts tell me they can't believe he is even in the league, let alone starting. If Dallas fans feel he is their best offensive lineman I think that speaks volumes about the state of that position.

Parcells who coaches the team?

Or...

Scott Wright and his "2 pro scouts" who can't believe he's even in the NFL?

That's a tough one.

Question.

Not what player you want but from the idea of what you think the TEAM will do.

Do you think the team would entertain the idea of A Safety with a first round pick?

Do you think we would take a OT (like in this mock) with a first round pick?

Personally I could see them possibly taking an OT but that is a slight possibility due to our drafting history.

However I don't think we would entertain taking a Safety in the first round due to the contracts of Roy, Newman and Henry.

His pro scouts are his buddies sitting next to him drinking beer and eating cheetos. :D

I'd have to say it depends on the talent of the individual. If Laron Landry is there, yes I take him and go OL later. This is a guy who is a difference maker at FS and who is playing in a system that fits what we already do.

If he's not there I do go OL or NT most likely unless there's a talent on the board too good to pass up. Say a Paul Posluzny from Penn State at LB for instance. Yeah, I know we are loaded at LB, but again, a difference maker.

IMO we need to focus on OL, backup QB (I think John Beck of BYU is a perfect backup to groom behind Romo) and WR. It needs to be an offense driven draft unless a defensive difference maker is there.

I'd do cartwheels if we got Landry. I think it would be the final piece of a defense that could dominate for 5 or more years without much tweaking.

I'd be VERY disappointed if we drafted Levi Brown in round 1.

And thats coming from a Penn State season ticket holder.

Give me Landry or Jarrett.

At least you got a reply from Scott Wright! I wrote to him a couple of weeks, suggesting that the pick wasn't necessarily bad, but that Columbo was playing very well (except for the Giants game and the missed FG in the Skins game). We need a guard or two. I didn't even hear back. Scott Wright always grades out well with Top 100 prospects and his final mock drafts - but the fact that he has no idea how well Columbo has played seriously throws everything he says about the pro players and teams into doubt.

I'm a true to the core Longhorn fan, but even I say pass on Griffin. It's because I've seen so much of him that I don't want him in the 1st round. He doesn't play well enough in space, and needs a guy like Mike Huff next to him to help him out. He's gotten burned a lot this year and is one of the main reasons that Kansas State with true freshman Josh Freeman threw for 4 TDs on us.

I say yes in the 2nd round, no in the 1st round.

To his credit, Scott always puts a lot of time and thought into his mocks (which is why you don't see a new one every week), but he blew it with Colombo.
