New Orleans needs a RB

So when barber gets hurt and now we have to go into the playoffs with TT as our only RB, would you be able to use the 2nd round pick for anything?

No

Who cares about the future, i want to win now.

Yeah, Randy Moss is worth a 4th, but JJ is worth a 2nd?

I told you before CC, you want to keep posting here, stay away from the drugs.

I doubt they would ever want him but if they did, how bad?

If they were smart, they'd have Ricky on speed dial right about now. I think he still might have something but who really knows?

Why would we want to help the Saints in any way when they are clearly on the ropes with an 0-3 record?

Answer that question first.

I'd sign Corey Dillon.

He may not want to sign with a crappy team, though. :laugh2:

When we traded Walker to Minn it was not with the ideal of helping out the Vikes it was trying to help out ourselfs. I doubt NO would be willing to give a high pick for Jones but if they did and Dallas took it then it would be to help the Cowboys not the Saints.

Chicago needs a QB. Maybe they'd give up a #1 for Romo. He's a FA at the end of the year so Dallas might lose him anyway.

Three first rounders....Wow.

:laugh2:

If it is MORE IMPORTANT to get something for Julius than not getting anything - then by all means.(I am not onboard with this)

That is NOT PART OF THE BIG PICTURE.

He is a part of this TEAM CHEMISTRY, NOW. Dont mess with it.

What good is 2 #2's and 2 #1's NEXT YEAR if it affects us NEGATIVELY THIS YEAR?

What do you think if we shipp JJ to Payton for a 2nd rd pick?

Helps both teams since we are going to loose JJ anyhow

Duece is hurt and out for the year.

It all adds up.

BARBER THE STARTER!

no way

The most idiotic idea I have heard all year! How many times has it been pointed out by how many people in how many ways that its the combination of the two that works. You want an unproven and unimpressive (IN THE PRESEASON) Tyson Thompson getting 15 carries a game???? ABSURED MAN JUST ABUSRED.

I don't see us trading Julius, but the most idiotic idea on this board, is that people seem to have convinced themselves the combination is indeed what works and Barber can't carry the load, even though there is absolutely ZERO proof of this.

For all we know, Barber the starter and Julius as the backup might end up being good for Julius, but there's no proof of that either.

I'm just sick and tired of people claiming this mystic combo we have going is the best and only way to do things, that's what absurd.

If the league was ran by you guys, Tiki Barber and Ron Dayne would still be team mates on the Giants. The Ram's would have traded for another RB to keep ahead of Steven Jackson, since obviously Faulk was keeping him fresh. And so on, it's ridiculous.

With all that being said, I think it would be stupid to trade JJ, I wouldn't mind having him backing up Barber (at a backup's salary) next year though.

The only team that MIGHT, and it is a big MIGHT trade a RB is SD with Micheal Turner, he's in the last year of his contract, and the bolts have Sproles as their back up.

But even that is a stretch consdidering Duece will has a big contract, and I don't see them just cutting bait with him. And if they don't cut bait, they're not bringing in another back.

Welcome to full time status Reggie Bush.

I would be disappointed.

We don't know for a fact Julius will be gone next year. More than likely he will be I know this.

But my main concern would be for the good combo we have going now coming to an end. You really want to count on Tyson backing up MBIII? Not me.

If MBIII was guaranteed not to get hurt I would make the deal. Without that, I wouldn't. Take the comp pick the NFL gives us next year and move on.

I was going to say "nice post, post again"...but I think I will say, "dumb idea, please no more dumb ideas"!

I know the word Crazy is part of your name, but still... :D

Why are you posting these things? This running game is doing good, let's leave it be. Besides, Jones apparently had another concussion, so you're not going to get that high a pick right now anyway.

Sheesh.

A second rounder?! For a guy (originally drafted in the second round) who's been somewhat of a disappointment? A guy who's a free agent after this season?

I'm willing to bet Payton wouldn't trade a 5th-rounder for JJ.

Yo Count.

If Jones is indeed injured and you get your wish, we'll see what Barber does for the whole next game, albeit against the Rams defense. But if this scenario comes up in a game and Barber is gassed or injured at the end of such a game, I for one will be sick and tired of listening to the people who are sick and tired of listening to the people, etc. :D

Whoa whoa, what's with all the injury talk? I didn't say I wanted either of them to get injured.

How does a second rounder next year help us win the Superbowl this year? I say no way, let's not change team chemistry. We're going to the dance.

I doubt we will make a trade but I would hate to think that the only thing that makes us a SB contender or not is Jones. I do think Barber could carry more of a load and have Thompson and Coleman give him a breather. Again I think all of this is a moot point because I don't think New Orleans would give us enough to make it worth our trouble.
