New Orleans needs a RB

You're willing to take a team that's 3-0 and looking super and trade away a key part of the offense for a 2nd round pick???????????????????????

NO thanks. There will probably be some rough spots later in the season for the offense, but the way things are looking right now, I'd be happy to let him walk for nothing at the end of the season....no way in heck do I mess around with the current roster of starters/contributors.

:hammer:

We have 2 good running backs. You don't want to mess with that. Look at Chicago right now they get rid of one of their good backs and suddenly the guy they have there Benson isn't looking so good.

lets not get carried away here, i wouldnt say Julius is a key part to our offense. especially if you are considering production.:starspin

What do you think if we shipp JJ to Payton for a 2nd rd pick?

Helps both teams since we are going to loose JJ anyhow

Duece is hurt and out for the year.

It all adds up.

Except why in God's name the Saints would be willing to overpay that much... a second rounder, CC?? Pass that on over here, I want a hit of it too...

Looks like by the trading deadline NO will be 0-7...lol. For a RB that will be a FA next year, what would you give for that knowing your season is shot and Duece will be back next year ?
Funny, but I wasn't limiting my thoughts to just NO, even tho I know that's what CC suggested.

I'm just thinking if Barber's really the man. And if we have (knock on wood) an injury situation, he'd be a really good candidate for trade.

I don't see us trading Julius, but the most idiotic idea on this board, is that people seem to have convinced themselves the combination is indeed what works and Barber can't carry the load, even though there is absolutely ZERO proof of this.

His college coach and 2 different coaches in the NFL have evaluated him, and decided that he works best in a rotation...

But heck, what do THEY know, right?? :D

BARBER THE STARTER!

If NO was interested in getting another RB via a trade... I doubt it would be JJ anyway.... they would probably want another bruising RB to compliment Reggie Bush.

good we dont need that

The key to a potential JJ trade here is how do you evaluate TT. If you think he can be an adequate NFL RB and split some carries it opens up the discussion.

A discussion that really is we don't want to trade JJ but if you want to pony up we might consider.

I ask for a 2nd and a 4th.
Both which could be high 2nd and 4th if Saints continue to tank.

Want to add to thread JJ really hasn't done much here to justify not having the discussion.
And its a RB loaded draft.

I could see the team trading. They wouldn't get a 2nd for him. At most, maybe a 4th.
I'd call that a pretty important point.

I agree, I don't feel a need to make this trade at all. You want him, pony up and pay.

This is almost like a baseball trade pre trade deadline on a player you probably can't or won't resign. Get something before he leaves. Can TT stopgap a year behind MB3 pre draft?

The running back situation is fine now. Do not try to fix something that is working great. We need the 2 back system. Barber is a hard nose player and he will NOT last the season if he is the featured back. Come on people think. No offense to the ladies but guys do you do things your wife ask you to buy something new when something is working fine? We all look at them and say "I know it makes a funny sound or it is old but it still works right?"

Ladies and Gentlemen are looking at the same situation. If it ain't broke don't fix it brotha!!

Sure, he probably won't be here next year anyhow...BTW, haven't gone through the whole thread. Did anyone answer your earlier question, is JJ a RFA or FA next year ?
