New puter ....OTW !! Yay

So it's been almost 3 years since I replaced my PC. I was running a Dell XPS 600 w/ a single nVidia 7900GTX 512 card and 4GB of ram.

I game a lot. Most folks know that. It's a hobby of mine since I was really young. Anyways the FPS were just god awful w/ the old rig, so I broke down and ordered a replacement today. I will restore the old PC to factory settings and clean it up nicely for my son. It will be his first desktop.

So this is what I picked up today. Im happy w/ it. I think I got a good deal on it. Let me know what you think? Thanks in advance.

They have the XPS's on sale right now. I almost got the 730i, but it was really to much money for what I wanted. I also could not squeez in the 24" monitor for the budget I had set. So I stepped down to the 630.

We get to participate in the employee purchase program, saving us another 7% on top of the sale + the free shipping.

It was easy to pull the trigger after that. This orginally spec's out to be $2387.00 initially before all the discounts.

We have an EPP program also but the XPS machines are too rich for my blood. I'm looking at an Optiplex 960 then adding a beefy video and sound card.

Did you ever try Age Of Conan? I was addicted to that game for awhile. But they kept tweaking characters over and over again and I got tired of it.


You ever play any of the Rainbox Six games?

You should see the overkill I just built. Home built > Store built. Then again at this point I have no freakin clue how much I have into mine anymore. Anywho thats still a really nice setup Dallas

I'll eventually load all the games I have on my rig. I have to stop buying stuff and swapping stuff out long enough to put them on it. I love the new i7's anything you can push from a 2.9 to a 4.5 with a few changes in the bios and still be rock solid is great

Vegas and Vegas 2 were really fun.

Also used to love the Splinter Cell franchise but Ubisoft has managed to ruin it.

I play horde side on Lightbringer. Level 80 Feral Druid (geared out the A...I love my guild). RE5 looks to be another great game. I want to check it out too.

Cool, haven't been on Lightbringer yet. I've been mainly on Staghelm for many years but have moved a few toons here and there. My main is a Troll Priest, currently shadow. His name is Buford atm lol. Moved him to a friends server for a while and when I came back my son had stolen my name. LOL He's mainly got 10 man Naxx stuff. A piece or two from 25.

Sweet. Yeah, do come over and check things out. Our guild is called Havoc. We have a very solid roster and have all the 25's on farm. Our progression is stalled at 25 Sarth + 3 drakes. We can do 25 Sarth +2 but for some reason that 3rd drake is kickin our DPS's in the no no's.


Most people here haven't a clue of what WoW nerdiness we speak of. Hahah!

Not much of a gamer myself. Diablo II and sid meiers (sp?) pirates and that last game was a remake of an 80's vic 20 game:laugh2:

However...I am looking forward to Diablo III.

I disagree but that's just me. I priced out a home built pc last night on newegg and it was more expensive that the Dell I'll end up getting and that's before I add a video and sound card.
