New Running Play?

There were a couple of running plays against the Saints were Witten would line up on the left side of the offense and "pull" along with the LG to block on the right side of the line. I've never seen that before. It didn't look like a counter. Is this a variation of the power O? Was this the first time they've run something like that or just the first time I noticed?

Idk but it worked and they both would engage it looked beautiful. On that 20+ TD by Murray I believe they did it and even Dez had his Corner blocked which helped Murray hit the sideline.

That double reverse and dump off to Murray on the right side was awesome too!

All of our bests were going up the right side of the field there and if executed better, probably was a home run to the end zone.

I know what you are talking about I think its a variation of a power run probably put in to give other teams another possible key to game plan for then you run a counter or the play to the weakside where witten left if the next team shifts to take away the run to whatever side Witten motions to.

There was also a play where Martin pushed his victim to the left and Witten came into the hole and took on a linebacker. Witten may have been in motion for that, as well. I'd have to rewatch the game to see.

Okay, you talked me in to it. I'll rewatch the game.

So it's not just me then. I wonder if this is a new play Linehan (sp) came up with and if he has any more new tricks up his sleeve.
